And modern too, after all the Dardanians and Macedonians kept fighting....

Anyway, after all you Russians did to us we've seen true face of that nation. It's not Russophobia, it's just being aware of actions of that country. We were occupied 3 times, jointly for longer than 150 years. It is only 12 years since last independence. And you are saying we should not be aware of Russians?
Western people have idealistic and pretty dumb idea of Russia. It dates since Enlightement and Voltaire. Once, asked why He writes such things about Russia though He knows it's not true, he replied; because empress Catherinesent me xx number of fur coats, and I am so afraid of colds.." oslt. Cynical reply, but I guess true.

          • DL, ozz, you got hit in the ass withmy replies.
And replied nothing of substance apart from some hazy colonial propaganda which is childislhy easy to see that is a lie and a relic of colonial spirited crap.
And while I recognzie errours for greece you have repededly failed to recognize grave errours from the UK and of course the turkish murderous assault. Mistakes which are recognized by everyone else except you.

            that's ok.
Good thing you're off Cyprus, you can die crying and whining.

When I was in Kosovo all the Albanians kept claiming they were the ancient Dardanians. There were a huge number of places named Cafe Dardania, Hotel Dardania, Restaurant Dardania, etc...

Of course they also claimed to be decended from the ancient Iyrians as well.

UK has done some rotten things, true. In Canada (Breaking treaties, stealing native land), India (salt taxes) China (opuim wars), Africa (Boer War), and thats just a few. Not in Cyprus though, they're record is pretty good there. They didn't expiolt cyprus, it was just another naval base (like Malta, Gibr) on the passage to India. If they did want to milk Cyprus they wouldn't have charged a petty tribute like 100,000 for the whole island, I doubt that even covered the administation costs.(ie police, courts road building, port maintenance........ etc.)

I'm sure my own/your own government has done worst things to it's own people than the UK did while governing Cyprus.

I just don't think the UK is guiltly of "colonial" crimes
in this case. I believe it was a case of mainland Greeks
                stirring up the Island Greeks.

All they needed to do is lobby London, they would have become a self governing colony (like Canada, Austrailia, New Zealand, South Africa, Newfoundland etc) and by 1950 (1930 more likely) they would have been independent and united.

I simply said that Russophobia is quite common in certain pro-lithuanian/polish/american threads....I never specifically mentioned you two at all.

Anyway, after all you Russians did to us we've seen true face of that nation.

Should a person from Chile say they know the true face of America? The American people are much better than their government....Just as the Russian people are much better than their government. Try not to blur that distinction.

It's not Russophobia, it's just being aware of actions of that country.
No, it is Russophobia. Senseless attacks upon the Russian people prove these things.

Your surprised that lithuania/poland people are Russophobics?
No. Not at all. I'm just saying its stupid.

Don't forget the Finns, I'm sure they hav'nt forgotten the Russians.

Most of us know it is a crap country
I think this right here proves the Russophobia rampant around Apolyton. A baseless attack on both the government and the people of Russia....

parading around with a less credible democracy than Turkey.

                  • Tassadar, why do you say Russian people are good? I do seriously doubt that. Most if not all of Russians I've ment and know in my life were ussually quite bad persons... BTW, currently Russian people themselves elects government yet they elected fascist as a president (his actions against Chechnya, also against all other religions except orthodox, proves that). Also, communist regime would never happened if not support from Russian people (you can argue that Stalin was Georgian, but he was actually supported by quite many Russians).

Aren't we one of few Poles and Lithuanians here, and one of even few ones who post about Russia?
