For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

I still think that we, Apolytoners, should design a compass and at least try to make it less slanted than this one. I'd prefer one that makes the left-right line based on left's quest for more equality and right's opposition to left, instead of economics, and add a liberal/authoritarian line based on liberal's quest for more freedom and authoritarian's opposition to the liberal.
It's truly sad that the right stole the world liberal.
Whahuh? It's the (American) left that's done word-stealing, taking the name of an ideology that traditionally has been one of free markets and appropiating it for supporting regulations.

The interchangeability of matter and spirit means the starlit magic of the outermost life of our universe becomes the soul-light magic of the innermost life of our self." - Dennis Kucinich, candidate for the U. S. presidency
"That’s the future of the Democratic Party: providing Republicans with a number of cute (but not that bright) comfort women." - Adam Yoshida, Canada's gift to the world
I took this test many times so I will give approximations of what I got last time...
economic right/left: Around +7.00
libertarian/authoritarian: Around +3.00
I have always been on the right for both social and economical issues...
Edit: I have always been the capitalist extremist here...
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)
centre wing / moderate (between lib. and authoritarian)
So far, I'm the only one. Tsk, tsk.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
#s have gone from -5 (left) -4 (lib) to -3 (left) -4 (lib) in the past. I'm pretty solidly -4 though...the economic one just goes back and forth a bit...
