I agree with you Havak, I call the faked injuries "Recovery Wounds"...

Either way it’s an identifiably Australian trait.
And I personally will be very interested if you try to defend my allegation as I think it’s one of the hardest things to deny about the Wallabies.
    Internal Commonwealth Issue...

We need strong French showings in the European cup to stop it becoming a British Isles cup so we do need to sort this out.
    So do we !

There are red cards hovering if s***** gets mentioned again gentlemen.
    I plead guilty your honor.

Not in my observation. If it happens when a set piece has been blown for what can the ref do?
You should watch some more SH rugby. Obviously it's a judgement call on the ref's part, but this season they were often getting on with the game even from set pieces. The ref would tell the player the game is going on and get on with setting the scrum or whatever. There was obviously some sort of edict from upon high.

Frankly, I have a bigger problem with players "loitering", a deliberate attempt to interfere illegally with the play. It, too, has been around forever but the ABs in general - and Sean Fitzpatrick in particular - mastered the art in the 90s. Good grief, the Lions were pretty adept at it last time, too.

Let he who is without sinbin cast the first abalone!

Also - Mick Galway, because of injury, has come out of retirement to play for Munster at Kingsholm on Saturday. A good lad is Mick.
Mick Galway. You'd have to pick him for Munster on his name alone.

Cal - I've never been asked to assess a riff before. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard one (at length, in isolation) before. So my opinion probably isn't worth the ether space it occupies. Anyway, for what it's worth, I think it starts well - interesting, catchy - and progresses nicely but seems somehow to run out of steam past the middle section. I have absolutely no idea how far riffs are meant to develop but I was waiting for some sort of injection to carry me to the end.

Please excuse my utter ignorance of these matters.

I don't know if I'am entitled to give any feedback to a guitar player as I'am not playing any instrument myself.
Moreover, when I'am not listening a Jazz CD, the kind of rock music I favor is rather nervous and based on short repeated riffs, some call this kind of music Fusion and/or Neo-Metal (Tool, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Infectious Groove and things like Suicidal Tendencies...).

Whatever the case, your riff is good, even if it is not in the style I prefer, but I think you should play it just a bit faster to give him more nerve.

Will you still reply to my posts ?

I'm from the USA, yes, don't laugh I play U-19 rugby as a flanker, and I'll be in my second year this spring. Several of my schoolmates and I joined up with some other high school kids from other schools in our city to form a team. We had a 4-3 record and made the playoffs, which wasn't bad for a first year team.

I sort of fell in love with the sport and couldn't get enough of it, and that's a little about me

We immediately withdraw everything we've thought and said about Americans not having the concentration span to enjoy rugby.

Well, okay, we definitely withdraw it in terms of you, your mates and your competition, anyway.

Finbar has few national blinkers – but this is sure one of them.

                      I plead guilty your honor.
You are sentenced to drink one ‘purple nasty’. Cider, lager, pernod and blackcurrant all in a half litre glass.

The two are not mutually exclusive.
But very hard to keep distinct in my experience. Few people can separate intellect and emotion.

There was obviously some sort of edict from upon high.
I was aware of the IRB instruction on this. But that doesn’t change who the main culprit was you know!

Frankly, I have a bigger problem with players "loitering",
Nope. The fake injuries issue is just as bad. It’s designed to take away opponents momentum. It’s cynical and reprehensible.

I didn’t notice the Lions loitering massively by the way – it’s not an NH trait whatever else it is – but I won’t argue as I’ll remind you the coach was not British and just happened to be KIWI. All our shapes and patterns were based on Auckland Blues of five years ago – no wonder you lads picked them.

Did you spot the Wallabies running between tackler and ball carrier. Nope, thought not!

Whatever else the Pros and cons of that particular tour it remains a fact the side accused of all the violent play by your media was the only one to have several players seriously injured as a direct result of violent play. Now how could that happen from the angelic innocent Wallabies then?

Let he who is without sinbin cast the first abalone!
                      Great line!

Mick Galway. You'd have to pick him for Munster on his name alone.
A terrific servant of Irish rugby and you are right – he could hardly be English could he?

                      He's just wrong.
                      Stuff and nonsense.

It’s not a foundless allegation but based on my personal observations. The easiest way to spot that an Aussie has taken over a side is to look for bodies down after the whistle. It’s a tell tale sign seen only a week ago from Foley led Bath. After all if an English coach took over Waratahs you would know when the backs started blowing three to one overlaps – these are just things that give out nationality away.

And bearcat – it’s great to see an Eagles fan join us. Welcome.

Cal – I struggle with sound at work (meant to be a Professional) – will try to access it at the weekend.

Finbar - have you appreciated the irony of Campo laying into the Wallabies as being too old this week after your pointing out the SMH writers piece suggesting we have the dads army?

Dear old Campo. I saw him posing with John Eales for some publicity shots for the WRC launch. Eales could quite happily have sat on him. You can insert an "h" into the verb, too, if you like. I also watched Campo being interviewed. He literally has no idea what's going to pop out of his mouth next. You can see it. There's no doubt he has a brain and very well developed. It's - as someone once said - like there's a short circuit in the wiring between brain and mouth.

Yes indeed. And as a gesture of welcome - and to make up for the terrible things we've said about Americans - I propose we should present him with the inaugural Golden Pushover Try award. Any seconders?

                            • Are you intimating I am a self pleaser? That is what saying someone will go blind means here.

It’s a little harsh for my voicing accurate and amusing criticism’s of the Wallabies don’t you think?

I mean I’m not denying it outright – but it is in no way connected to my opinions of the beautiful game.

You often accuse me of clutching at straws but if Jonno is the player you have fingered loitering I think you have deposed me on that one.

I see Eales has started the propaganda war for the ARU already – “France and Boks are the threats” – “ABs and England will struggle”.

                              Transparent nonsense?

By the way Tamerlin – I forgot to mention Munster used the fake injury ploy all the time in the May European final too. Shame they couldn’t counter the flankers dark arts that consigned them to the losing pile instead. Don’t fake injuries – teach your flankers to illegally grab opposition ball.

See Finbar – I can criticise my own.

Thanks for the comments, it is very much in the beginning stages. The stuff I am playing over the slower riff is improvised as I havent really decided what sounds good yet.
