That was the last time Greece was at war. Not too far ago is it? and surely not with swords

The Nazis beat themselves. If Hitler and co. would have acted a bit more rationally (i.e. postponed their war on the Soviets until Germany had mastered the Middle East, or at least until they made Britain submit) all of Europe would be German right now.
