A slap on the cheek is not domestic abuse - I haven't seen the commercial but I doubt it implies or encourages domestic abuse at all. I really do not see what everyone is geting their panties in a twist about.

Besides, wouldn't your efforts be better spent protesting against things like GTA and Soldier of Fortune, or the latest action flick to come out of hollywood? Those all have a hell of alot more then cheek slaping, and all depict much larger things then domestic abuse.

by the way, i think in the name of social justice and what not, we should all go sign that petition to rename the upcoming Peter Jackson movie "The Two Towers" to something less offensive...

And I take it you would be ok with a commerical with men slapping women? Striking your partner is domestic abuse. While there is worse violence that can be shown, domestic abuse whenever portrayed always portrays it as an evil act, not portrayed in a lighthearted manner.

*snif* I'm ignored again. *slaps Shi*

Hey, I'm not his spouse so it's okay.

I've read an articke latelky about men being abused by their spouses. It happens more oftne then you think, and it REALLY ****s them up. I mean, it's not something you can call help for easily. "Hello police, my wife just threathened me with the kitchen knife and blacked my eye."

Of course I would, and I remember seeing a few commercials in the past that did that, too.

A simple slap on the cheek - no doubt done jokingly in the commercial - is not domestic abuse. Maybe if she said "Don't you ever look at another girl again you stupid little ****" and then proceded to beat him - that would be domestic abuse. But I have a hard time believing that there would be anything even remotely close to that in a bear commercial. The only person here that I know of who has actually seen the commercial and called it domestic abuse is BlackIce, and, well.... you know how he is.

And I'm still waiting for someone to explain why a measily slap on the cheek is cause for outrage, when there are cartoons a million times more violent.

Slaps are enough to be considered domestic abuse. My male friend who was a victim was slapped all the time by his bf. It wasn't so much the physical pain of being slapped, it was the emotional pain of being hit by someone he loved.

I don't think I'm overreacting either, Immortal Wombat. I wouldn't sue them. I am just registering my dislike of the commercial.

                      you know how he is

                      No how is he Oswerd?

Seems you with others get into a real flap when someone stands up for male rights...You label, ignore and just generally make fools of yourselves with your blatant show of ignorance. Now I bet you have not even tried to find the commercial. You have simply posted to see your name. Bottom line is you can not have it both ways either it is wrong to abuse all or it is mute.

A slap is domestic violence BTB statistics conclude that men are domestically abused this way as a hugh majority. When you include all forms of domestic abuse males and females are equal.

Any promotion of violence on one sex or the other should not be tollerated what so ever.

Read that Oswerd a minor drop in the bucket...

Right, and i don't think that'd happen either. Because:

                        1) I'm not gay
                        2) If I were you'd be below my standards

So what is your opinion on movie violence, since this obviously encourages everyone to kill everyone else.

Like in True Lies, when Arnold takes the Harrier and fires the missile with someone on it -- we should stop that kind of **** from happening because it promote Harrier theft and murder.

Commercials children see True Lies was R rated let's talk apples and apples here.

                            Games are rated.
Domestic violence is so far a womans issue maybe ask them what they think of true lies. Now it seems to me in true lies woman hits man, man hits man, woman hits woman. Maybe not such a good example...

You seem to hate the double standard between men and women.

At the same time, you don't approve of women hitting men.

Therefore, you don't want any kind of violence at all. Why should man->man violence by any different, right?
