this reminds me of the few times i watched BET (Black Entertainment Channel) with some friends.

Black (African American if you wish) Comedians get on stage and many of them just flat out make fun of white people.

God forbid we reverse the rolls, as civil rights activists and their kin would be down our throats in seconds.

Well it's really not acceptable whatsoever, and anyone who tried to do that to me like that would get one hell of a shouting at.

Ford recently pulled their advert for the Focus which featured a woman shoving a store attendant into the trunk of the vehicle as he unloaded her shopping cart for her....

I suspect (rightly or wrongly) we will not be seeing this beer ad much longer.

Well, if you're into that kind of kink, be my guest!

The one time a drunk bimbo tried to slap me around in a bar she ended up regretting it.

Blackice has got this one right.

Violence has it's place in TV/movies, and it usually done in a context. It is even ok to portray domestic violence in certain circumstances, usually in which the abuser is demonized-- but domestic vioence is not portrayed in lighthearted beer commercials. It would not be acceptable to show in a similar commercial guys slapping their girlfriends, and so this commercial should also be unacceptable.

I don't know what you watch, but I've seen comedians of all colours making racist jokes on TV.

As for the people who are saying this should be banned - why don't you feel the same way about all other violence in TV, Movies, and Video games? It's not ok to have a woman slap a man in a bear commercial, but it's ok to have people massacring each other in cartoons and video games?

I think you guys are just upset that this bear commercial doesn't have a bunch of scantily clad women like they usually do.

Have to say, I find this commecial inappropriate, too.

My perspective is a wee bit different, but I have two friends, one male and one female, who both suffered domestic abuse. They're both gay, however. Knowing the trauma they suffered with getting smacked around by their lovers, I can't say I find the advertisement too endearing.

Making a joke out of men being hit by their lovers is kinda like making jokes out of prison rape. It's all too-common, but the situation its mocking is a really horrible, awful one that shouldn't invite such humor.

nothing's too bad to be made fun of, not even slapping.

you can't just go sue people who offend you or hurt your feelings, it's just not right
