Apparently some people think it's uncommon for anyone but southerners to greet eachother when they see eachother.
It's nothing special...I tend to greet people I know as well.

You say it when you recognize someone. People who graduated from my High School a year or two ago sometimes come back to visit and talk about how quite hallways are at northen colleges because no one seems to acknowledge anyone ever.

Yes, always. New York and Philly were ALWAYS northern cities.
Echt: Northerners say hey to their friends. Southerners say hey to everyone (so I've heard).
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

True.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Yes, but do Southerners say hey to EVERY one?
Yes.

Do you know how truly annoying it would be if everyone said hi to everyone?
You kinda ruin the significance of it if you greet everyone. What's the point? It's not being polite, it's being annoying.

No is wasn't. Just because it was in the northern half (just barely, BTW) doesn't mean it was grouped with the northern states.

Also in a mall where there are hundreds and thousands of people?
Sometimes in malls. I do notice that people smile at each other here a lot more and talk to each other.

We don't do it for everyone, just people we recognize.
Also in a mall where there are hundreds and thousands of people?
If I recognized every single person, I might, but that is silly because it would never happen.
