This is an EXTREMELY bad idea.

Just what are you planning to do with all the sagging skin that will result from anything remotely resembling this sort of crash weight loss. You will your old self with all the skin of your present self. You MUST lose weight at much lower rate if you are to avoid that. Even two pounds a week can be too fast for your skin. Ask your doctor about this if you must but don't try that rate unless the Doctor can absolutly assure you that you won't wind a 100 pound person in a 200 pound bag.

Actualy no because I'm making my changes in my diet and lifestyle so there won't be any need. And you wonder why BW doesn't like you

Ethelred ~ yes I know all the pit falls of that. I am doing all of this with the supervison of my doctor. Like I said above. I'm not one of these women with rolls of fat everywhere and I also happen to be quite tall for a girl so that helps distribute my weight fairly evenly. I'm making sure I'm going about this the right way and not doing fad diets or shakes. Changing eating habbits and a good exercise program and now thanks to Cali's suggestion getting into some type of sports is my game plan.

The 100 pounds by August is a goal. That doesn't mean it's going to happen and frankly I will be happy with whatever I accomplish by August.

hey, that was a joke... what's the matter? I'm sure you'd have appreciated it more had it been posted by Floyd.

And some people still deny women can't be objective

Hey! I can be objective And no David would have gotten popped to.......probably worse But you can see where it would be taken that way given the fact that you do have a history of making comments and usually turning just about every thread you post on into a spam fest, but if I took it wrong then I retract the earlier statement.

Out of curiosity how tall? I have dropped 20 pounds from my maximum but it has been over several years. Never more than a couple pounds a month I suppose.

I did once go through a short period( had to be short or I would be dead) where I was losing a half pound a day. Dropped from around 180 to 164 before I got my weight stabilized. I had a throat infection and I wrecked my eating habits stabilizing my weight. Sure was nice though to be able to eat anything again like I had done in college. Had to learn all over again what I could get away with after my metabolism finally returned to normal.

as far as sagging skin: can't she use some of that skin firming lotion or anti-aging cream. and if she drinks tons of water, wont that help rejuvenate her skin's health? in a last ditch bid, she could just have them snip it all off. right?

i bet your back will feel better....your bust size will hopefully shrink..i heard larger ones tend to put real stress on the back.

ok. now i see about your thyroid. yours is gone and mine is just a piece of crap (i have borderline hypothyroidism...eventually the drs say i will have it all the way). what about lipitor or maybe even some pills to make up for what your thyroid cannot produce? also, as far as things sagging, when you get to that point, yoga will help firm and tone all those newly thinned parts.

as far as doing a little instead of a lot..i like the idea. i've heard that running and what not is really hard on the knees and that walking is actually better for you.

I'm 5'8 which is fairly tall as far as women go as well as being very well proportioned. It helps that I am so tall. Keeping my metabolism stablized after the weight loss is something I plan on keeping up with. One of the most important things to do.

Ususally when I lose weight the boobs are the first things to go. I could stand to lose a few inches there and still have pleanty. As far as the anti aging cream....well fortunately for me I was given good genes. I have good hair, great skin and still get carded occasionally when buying alcohol so I don't think I need to be concerned in that department.

                      Well its decent height anyway.

I suppose I have a distorted idea of what constitutes a tall woman. When I was old enough not to need a babysitter but not old enough to babysit my sister my mother hired the daughters of one of her friends. The short one was 6'1". I didn't understand what she meant when she watched beuty contests and said the girls were big. I think she wasn't talking about their heights.

To me a women isn't tall till she is my height. I am 5'11.5"

Well, like I said, I've been on the atkins (no sugar, no carbs) diet for the past 2 months or so now. I've lost 30 pounds, so I guess it works. (this is in addition to regularly running around)

Went on this diet when, I realised in March, that I was still substantially overweight even though I was much thinner at this time last year. Must be the 'ole Hickman (Mom's side of the family) metabolism kicking in. Damn.

                                here's a criticism of atkins i found: http://www.hcrc.org/faqs/atkins.html

and tia has the right idea with walking:

you must think i'm nuts to have such an interest in all this, as i'm not technically overweight. but, i must say..it comes from a lifelong obssession with me being obssessed about my weight. ask LR or anyone..i'm always trying to loose, i'm always talking about i dislike what i see in the mirror...i see flab where others see a skinny girl. and so yes, i know a bit about dieting whether i need it or not. just something that i can't shake.
