And there's me thinking this pathetic flag-waving is the cause of the problem, erecting artificial barriers, crapping on other people to benefit oneself. It's ridiculous

Both sides have very valid points, but the balance of forces is very uneven. I find it quite nauseating to see Americans involved in this flag-waving too, an issue they have next to no involvement in. Isn't it time that the people of the region had self-determination?

Imran, a republican on the path to rehabilitation, has put the Palestinian flag on and it sure looks good.

      Damn straight it looks good!

MtG did do it first, and mine is in response to his. I don't like the fact that people believe that the Palestinian people should be oppressed and any attempt for a Palestinian state be destroyed (Arafat was thinking of declaring a Pal state unilaterally years ago, but was threatened with invasion).

My avatar will stay up until the Israeli colonial oppressors leave Palestine.

Well, you and I agree on one thing -- we both oppose oppression of Palestinians.

But if Palestinian terrorists wish to blend in with civilian Palestinians, that is not the fault of Israel.

And President Bush is being hypocritical of Israel's latest counter-attack against terrorists by saying that Israel should stop the offensives.

Should the United States have never taken an offensive against the terrorists in Afghanistan??

I don't agree. From the way I look at it, the Israeli state/military are acting like a bunch of thugs, and have done ever since the commencement of Sharon's leadership. When you corner an animal, it is going to fight back more viciously than ever. Israel's actions are throwing fuel on the fire, and is certainly not going to resolve the issue. Hence I have a great deal of sympathy for the Palestinian cause. Just a shame that so many innocent people are being killed in such a pathetic issue of land, one that needn't be so.

To protest this nationalistic nonsense, I elect to leave my avatar as it currently is.
