Apolyton season 3: The flag wars

This is of quadressential importance: who started using the flag of Palestine and Israel?

I'm not talking about Siro, he always had his Israeli flag except for that unfortunate period of time (short one thankfully) where he put his own face as an avatar

Now MtG, the grand and venerated mod of this God - blessed and God - intended forums, is flying the Israeli colors.

Imran, a republican on the path to rehabilitation, has put the Palestinian flag on and it sure looks good.


However who started this?

I thought about having Arafat as my avatar but I find out I'm already far behind.

Imran put his up in response to mine.

I put mine up because of the constant slamming of Israel by the same people who rationalize and excuse Palestinian terrorism and arab agression. This way, my Israeli friends here and elsewhere know that some people still stand by them.

Especially when we have three guys here (don't know if Yoav and Taurus post here at all anymore, and I don't know if Mark is beyond military service age) who are very close to service age in the IDF, and it may well be their asses on the line, and certainly a lot of their friends.

So I did it primarily for Siro, Dal and Eli, but not just them - all Israelis.

Other than Bugs, EmperorTheFabulous, Loinburger, and a few others, you seem to be among the intelligent arguers here on Apolyton.

After you leave, Apolyton would probably degenerate even more, unless Bugs and Emperor participate as often as Loinburger does.

My flag is my improvisation at a War flag.

The sign is of the IDF and the flag behind it is Israel's Navy / War flag.

I decided not to put the IDF flag since it's a bit ugly.

Ah, the Manx flag (the three legged one).

You know why that is the flag don't you? That is one of the mutants that was spawned on the Isle of Man, a result of the radioactive waste spewed out by Sellafield just across the water

I've decided to follow MTG's lead.

I will display the Israel flag as my avatar for about a week, to show my support.

But then after a week or so, I will revert back to my traditional avatar.
