IMO they should pay more tax (in countries which provide a health service). AIDS and more psychological problems (attempted suicide rates are higher in gays), means that they have problems that need to be dealt with. This costs the rest of the nation and as such straights are subsidising the living costs of gays.

If you're going to charge people more for health care because they're more at risk for one thing or another, why would it still be a public system?
By your logic teenage males in general should pay higher taxes, since they have the highest suicide rates out of all demographics, not to mention AIDS risk and other psychological problems.
Kudos to you for sinking lower than I ever thought possible.

Teenage males don't generally have an income, fool.

Many do, especially in their late teens.
That still doesn't change the fact that they should be taxed higher.
Oh, and how about pregnant women? That's a timebomb waiting to go off. You know for sure they're going to be in the hospital soon, let's jack their taxes up. And how about after a pregnancy? Post-partum depression is quite common, so let's keep their taxes high.
Oh ****, then they get middleaged. Lots of midlife crisis stuff going on now. Maybe they'll buy a sports car and drive it into a wall. Raise those taxes...

Exactly, these things happen to everyone so teenage males, pregnant women, middle-aged people shouldn't pay a higher tax rate.
No, those things are more likely to happen to a specific demographic. Therefore they should pay higher taxes, right? That was your logic before, why are you changing your tune now?
But AIDS is pretty much the sole preserve of the homosexual classes and as so they should pay the cost of treatment.
That is a complete lie. AIDS is widespread today among homosexuals AND heterosexuals, you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Maybe women should always pay higher taxes since they're statistically more likely to be giving birth than men, and that costs money...
And perhaps people with abysmal IQs like yourself should pay higher taxes, since you're quite likely to end your life by walking infront of a bus.

If I did so, it wouldn't cost the taxpayer that much.
The fact is AIDS has a far far higher prevalence amongst gays than straights and no arguing will turn around that fact. Hepatitis rates are higher too.
The fact is that virtually everyone is going be teenage, middle-aged at some point in their life..therefore their taxes for health care shouldn't be higher. But not everyone is going to endulge in risky sexual practices, most gays (if not all) will though.

a) 75+% of AIDS cases are among heteros. Granted this gives homosexuals a higher infection rate than the general pop, but you can't possible call it the "sole preserve".
b) The point of socialised medicine is that health is not for sale. We don't charge fat people, construction workers, diabetics or hemophiliacs more. Why would we single out homosexuals?

Your stats are faulty and have no link. URL?

The state charges an extra tax on cigarettes, in part to cover additional health costs.
Perhaps an additional tax should be levied on things like latex sheets or thick condoms,in order that homosexuals pay for their own treatment. This will stop society paying for the brunt of it.

Could you provide some links for that?
At least where I live, a recent study showed gays were just slightly more likely to get HIV than straights. They were pretty even odds.

You're such a bigot. I can't believe you even deny it.
Gays are not more likely to endulge in risky sexual practices, despite what your subconcious imagines when you sleep. Teenagers, in general, are quite likely to engage in risky sexual practices. Because someone's gay doesn't mean they're going to be having sex without condoms.
You're saying gays should pay higher taxes because they're more likely to get sick. First of all, that's not exactly correct. Second of all, women are more likely to get pregnant, why aren't they being taxed more? Third of all, teenagers are more likely to have STDs than adults, why aren't they being taxed more?
If you're advocating gays being taxed higher, you'll have to live with more taxes for yourself and your bigoted ass, because statistically you're at the age where you do consistently stupid things that endanger your life and others. Deal with it, Stewie.
Public health care is just that, public. You don't pay more or less depending on how likely you are to die. If you want a system like that, go deal with the lovely HMOs in America. Have you ever dealt with those, Stewie?

"Gay men accounted for 80 per cent of new infections from 1981 to 1983, but by 1996 made up less than one-third of all new cases."
There you go. Given that 1% of populations are gay (liberal estimate), that means gays are way way more likely to be spreading AIDS.
And they started the ball rolling in the 80s as well, which could be even worse.

I'm not talking sex without condoms. I've seen factual sites about this...gays actually ingest faeces, and lick arses. Straight teenaegrs don' do that!

Bravo!

All taxpayers have been a teenager at some point so there is no differentiation there.
However not everyone is gay.

Everyone who goes on to be a taxpayer bes this age at some point in their lives so there's no need to differentiate.

HMOs?
You should pay health insurance based on your risk of incurring health costs. Gays thus should pay higher.
Similar to car insurance and drivers who indulge in risky unwarranted behaviour.
You're full of brown stuff. Do a search yourself. My stats were good as of 4-5 years ago when I did a research paper on the spread of HIV in North America.

There is a very significant deterrance motivation in punitive taxes. Would you rather gays didn't use condoms? Whatever additional revenue you would raise through this method would be swamped by the immense extra cost of additional AIDS cases (25000$US/year, IIRC).
This will stop society paying for the brunt of it
Socialised medicine. Socialised medicine. Repeat it as many times as is required. There is a fair deal of wealth redistribution going on in such a system. That's deliberate and worthwhile.
