oh yes... paiktis, i've got a question to ask you.

is there still a popular "Megali Idea" in Greece? As in, do many people think that Greece should include Constantinople, Smyrna, Cyprus, and all that? If yes, how popular is it?

I refrain from answering that question because I have returned home a little bit drunk.

I'll answer it though when I'm sober

well Greece is wealthy compared to all of its neighboors

                      that's because

                      a) it has smart people
                      b) it has good friends including the US and Europe

a wealrthy country has little to do with megali idea

we live good so why compromise it?

however Turkey is really provockative. She wants to redrwan the Aegean borders.

That obviously is a source of tension.

with tension comes nationalism against turkey

with nationalism comes megali idea (after all it's its child)

so there are two schools of thought in Greece

                      1) support the european course of Turkey
                      2) Turkey will never be law abiding and willing to be peaceful hence a military confrontation is the only way to deal with it.

which school takes the front sit it depends on many factors.

still in everyday life, noone cares about turks.

if the conversation gets to them though, yeah you can hear some things about kicking their butts if they keep harassing.

all in all the megali idea is a thing of the past though

as long as turkey doesn;t make it a thing of the present....

                              • Turkey has beenoffered time and time again to go to the Hague international tribunal if she has a problem with forntiers as they are now.

                                she keeps refusing

turkey's goal is to intimidate Greece into succumbing.

Greece role is to keick Turkey in the ass time and time again

international law clearly justifies Greece. What does Turkey want?

Better stay faithful to international law or she will be crying over Constantinople

genocide of greeks., kurds and armenians do I need to say more?

if turkey was a democracy we couyld have a good neighboorhood.

bur since it is a military regime there will be tensions
