I think the difference lies in everyday contact, in which dutch and german people are pretty blunt and to the point, and in criticism, where americans are more ruthless and to the point.
Well, lets just imagine my question is not hypothetical then...

      Achtung Rechtsberater,

Your response was both time consuming and inefficient in its content. You will have to do better next time.

May be. Thinking about it, there is indeed a difference between private and professional contacts that is different from the difference we have here. And no, you don't have to criticise this convoluted sentence.

            • to publicly humiliate the class freak, just like back in the elementary school playground where there was always one kid who was everyone's target.
There is a lot of childhood aggression there methinks. Got something to tell us?

Why shouldn't we complain about bad service? Just becuase your a nation of sheep doesn't mean that one has to blindly accept poor performance from people they are paying.

Most of the service we recieved in the US was worse, especially in fast food outlets.

Which just goes to prove my previous point if you blindly accepted it.

Did I say we blindly accepted it?

Then why bring up a point that is totally irrelevent to what I said?

Do they allow other sexually oriented "clubs"?

Asher, your constant reference to "old man" bothers me very little.

                            • Americans maybe easily offended, Sept. 11 is a valid reason.

I also think that maybe you can offend the Brits. Anyone recall 1812? It seems to me that Britain got offended, as a one time superpower that had the s*** beat out of them by a handful of their own colonies of peseants and politically exiled people.

"But really it all came down to one thing. A person was invincible only because people thought him to be so, and therefore that person's security was, like all the importnant aspects of life a thing of the mind.

But Human motivation is also a thing of the mind, and fear has never been the strongest emotion. Throughout history, people have risked their lives for love, for patriotism, for principle, and for God far more often than fear has made them run away. Upon that fact depends progress." -Tom Clancy

Some of the more mouthy Brits really get pissy then.
