Are Americans Offended Too Easily?

Maybe we should remind them what out country does when we get truely offended. (Afgahanistan?) Seems to me they tried to do something similar in history, but failed. Hmmm....kinda makes you think about who's still boss doesn't it?

Granted Britain was after resources (God knows what is useful in Afgahnistan), where as we're out for something totally different...

That one particular Brit expedition was not a complete failure, only a 99.99999999999999% failure. Did they not have one man out of the thousands survive.

Okay, everyone else, Gian is a spaz. We know he's a spaz. The fact that he "brings it on himself" is no reason to engage in bullying the kid. He's just a kid. Most of us are adults. We should know better. Provost Harrison is an adult, he knows better than to pick on spazzes.

Yes, Giancarlo is a horrible little person and says really horrible things about gay people. So ignore him. That usually is far more punishing and far more effective at getting people to realize their behavior is beyond the pale. By jumping all over him, in his mind he can think you are all the bad guys and he won't change.

I think PH's punishment was over the top, but he did deserve something. If it was me, I'd just have given him a week, but I'm not a mod. It ain't up to me, and there's nothing I can do about it. PH is an adult, he needs to learn not to pick on spazzy kids.

It helped the US cause that they actually had the support of most Afghan people. When a country doesn't have the support of the natives it's a bit harder (eg. Vietnam).

Bring up the movie "The Patriot".
Some of the more mouthy Brits really get pissy then.

It makes a change to have a hollywood movie without a happy ending. Nice to see the bad guys win for a change.

Why do I care? Because someone wants a special club, at school, based on their sexual orientation. Which is b.s.

At uni we had a LGB (Lesbian Gay Bisexual) society which was a social group / pressure group checking up against discrimination. Also an Asian Students group, Black students group, Christian group, Muslim students group, Different groups for different political parties, womens issues group... they weren't allowed to restrict their membership though.

If anyone had wanted to form a straight white male group I'm sure that would have been allowed too as long as they didn't restrict their membership to straight white males. *shrug*
