  • Are Americans Offended Too Easily?

    This is becoming apparent.

They totally detest British "pub culture" whereby everything is open for ridicule (be it a person, a trait, a political idea or a sexuality).

    What do you think?

Bugs got a compliment from an American so needs to defend them for the rest of the evening

I don't think it is true about all Americans, some are really nice (Devilmunchkin, Ted Striker and David Floyd spring to mind), but on the whole they seem more easily offended than Britons, true.

Woohoo! I got mentioned as a "really nice" person

But many Americans aren't too easily offended - hell, Boddington, if you want to lose an insult war, I'll let you and my friend Paul have a talk. My friends and I generally make fun of each other all the time, and it gets pretty bad sometimes.

The comment was directed towards Infat, anyway.

Rest of the evening? I've spent the last two years patiently explaining that I like Americans. True their politics and history suck, but so does ours. Even harder. The crucial difference is that I've never met an American I haven't liked, whereas I've met many English people I could happily drown in a barrel of paint-stripper.

Why do you think I don't take part in transatlantic trolls? Lack of imagination? They're really boring.

                            Yes. Next question?

But don't you know more Brits than Americans?

And I agree our history sucks more, but currently I think I prefer the UK system.
