Pat: When you spank someone, you are inflicting pain. When you ground someone, you are taking away a priveledge.

Safety from physical pain is not a priviledge. Your father was wrong and failed at what he did just as my grandfather did.
    So says you.

I wish, last I checked even gay sex was still illegal in your "non-hick" city.

If some instructer took you aside cause you left campus to get breakfast and you are 18 you should get paddled with out no say so?
first it's not college. And second it's not assault. If it was assault, then you could charge them with assault on the other students as well.

The difference being I'm avoiding that stereotype (it's not me), but here you are supporting beating children, basking in it.
Yep thats it, IM BASKING IN IT. Obviously you weren't beat enough as a kid, you might not have ended up as such a twit

just to answer the question of what a hick is I dont know the websters version but i can tell you the version people use to distinguish one. A hick is a person usually from a small town that has backwords beliefs and education. The term is usuallly used as an insult to sterotype people from one city that generalizes them inot all one group. Basicly saying they are uneducated and dumb that dont follow the beliefs and things as other civilized folks.
When you find yourself arguing with an idiot, you might want to rethink who the idiot really is.

Maybe if they beat me more I could be a fine upstanding citzen such as yourself, letting their teachers smack them around with a paddle for getting breakfast off school property.

It never will be universally accepted. Your problem is that unless it concerns you directly, it's only worthy of contempt.

                  And that is contemptible.

Getting beaten when you are 18 is assault. Under 18, with parents permission is not assault.

Parental permission does not carry over to adulthood.

That's not true -- I'm opposed to all racism and sexism, and neither of those affect me as a white male.

You're just upset that I hold smokers responsible for their own fate, for choosing to smoke. And I consider discrimination against people for their actions to be acceptable -- criminals, smokers, pedophiles, meth addicts, etc.

see my post about students leavin campus. It's for their own security. Between school shootings and adults kidnapping abusing children, schools have to enforce this.

This is were your wrong in the schools here if you touch a child or even if another child touches another child it is considered assault. When i say touch i mean in a threatning way. And if various body parts are involved its called sexual assault. i.e if your clowning around and you grab the pants off another student not really ur friend and pull them down you as the student who did it can and will be charged with sexual assault on another student.

Oh I see now, this state should change their laws because other states allow buggery.

Poor Texas doesn't even have legalized brothels.

Because people don't agree with you, they are hicks.

                                Okay.
