How was it a misleading question? I was very careful in how I asked because I knew you'd try to weasel out -- it's a direct quote I used. It's exactly what you said, word for word. It's exactly what I was arguing.
That doesn't change anything.
Of course it doesn't. You're under Apple's infamous Reality Distortion Field.
You spew garbage endlessly about what the guy is trying to say, I try to correct you many times. I end up going to him and asking him what he meant, and what he meant is exactly what I thought he meant.
Still, in the face of the author himself clarifying his position, you still try to say he meant something else.
This is a classic example of what happens to followers of the Apple Cult. Completely blind, nonsensical fanatics...

I'm surprised no one mentioned that AMD's losing money again.
As I've said to Fez and other AMD-zealots many, many times -- AMD makes the occasional excellent chip, but their business and management side is a complete farce. The company is never going to be anything but a niche player. That niche changes depending how good its product is -- right now it's an enthusiast chip, in the past they were value chips.
Either way, they're not in the same league, business-wise, as Intel.

Read the rest of the original articles. Several itunes features now appear in WMP. He even says that one's first look will make you think that itunes had been melded with WMP 9. That would be a bizarre thing to say if you weren't stating that WMP had been made "itunes-like".
WMP features have made it into iTunes as well, though.
One of my original complaints with the original iTunes was that it didn't have a "mini-mode" player ala WMP and Winamp. Sure enough, it did in a future version.
Did it ever occur to you that the "melding" comment cuts both ways? He didn't focus on what iTunes got from WMP because it was a WMP review, not an iTunes review.
The point -- as I've said a thousand times now, and as Paul has said clearly himself -- is that both products are becoming easier to use and simpler for the average end user. This does not mean MS is "copying" Apple or anything of the sort, like you want to infer.

It's a misleading question because it doesn't address what we were talking about. He doesn't want to say it is inferior straight out because he wants to give MS kudos for multiple music stores - his favourite beef with itunes.
But look at the original article. He notes how WMP is adding itunes features and how it has become more itunes like as a media player, and then he says it isn't as good. Plain as day.
In some respects it's apples and oranges, because itunes doesn't play video or do the other stuff, but it is pretty clear from the original article that he thinks it is better at what it does, and WMP tried to do the same but fell short.
If he wants to back out of it now, that's not my problem. But that's what he said in his original reviews - and I suspect he was just being diplomatic in his email.
The point -- as I've said a thousand times now, and as Paul has said clearly himself -- is that both products are becoming easier to use and simpler for the average end user.
Sorry, not what the original article says. As he points out it looks like a cross between itunes and WMP 9. There would be no point to such a comment if MS wasn't trying to copy itunes simplicity. And any doofus who looks can see that they were.

You know, that's funny - this is the first time someone's made an acrononym to express the desire that I leave the thread, whereas that's a common response to your posts.

The loss includes charges totaling $49 million, or 13 cents a share, for the conversion and retirement of debt. Excluding the charges, AMD's per-share earnings were less than the 8-cent profit that analysts were expecting.
Missing some details there, Asher?

And yet, UR, Intel is almost always in the black, whereas AMD is often in the red.
Yes, Intel has made some stumbles recently, but... odds are, they'll be a healthy company for a good long while. Ie, if they were a person, unlike AMD, Intel isn't living from paycheck to paycheck.

That's true, but it's not because of managerial blunders as asserted by Asher.

Yup, Intel has massive reserves so it could afford to make mistakes, I am not disputing that, either.

Me an AMD Fan boi? How funny. I think AMD has a strangle-hold on the future because of it superior processor line. Asher says something about business qualities.. hahahahahah.... I think I'm going to crack up.

Nope. Even without the debt (which is another AMD management issue), they still made a laughable profit, and were even below expectations as well.
