Anything not AMD based is crap for me. No disputes about that. I will not change my mind.
Which of course, seem to rule out other platforms and areas where AMD does not have any advantage, such as mobile computing, which is dominated by Intel's Centrino and ARM lines, or HPC computing, which is far more robust in terms of what architectures are availible, such as SPARC, PPC, MIPS, and so on...
Especially since some of those architectures are fundamentally better and newer than tha aging x86 architecture (which, admittedly, i have no problems with, and with the addition of x86-64, should serve us well for quite a bit longer.)
Since most of those architectures are not made by AMD, your comment that they have to be crap, is, well, pure fanboism.

This is moronic for several reasons. I'm not a fanboi, because I never said AMD leads in the mobile market. It does not at this time. AMD has substantial advantage in the desktop market, where its processers are far more advanced then anything else out there, period. Your comments are hideously wrong and inaccurate about the reality of what I think. You will not ever speak for me again.
AMD's business platform is pretty robust in my opinion in setting for dominance in the future. It may cost money now, but even John Rockefeller said you have to sacrifice in the beginning.
I believe any advantage Intel has in mobile processing will crumble, as it did in the mid/upper range market.

I would disagree. In the desktop market, Intel's latest processors not only have x86-64 support, but also HyperThreading and SSE3. That would make them more advanced than the Athlon 64.

The beginning was over decades ago. AMD has been around since the late 1970s, and has always been a niche player.

I really don't think this will happen, for a few reasons:
1) AMD will not release actual numbers and figures for the Turion, just saying it'll be "comparable" to the Pentium M -- probably this refers to the Pentium M prior to yesterday, which got a major chipset upgrade.
2) Even if it is "comparable" to the latest Pentium M, that doesn't give it any kind of edge. Major OEMs which make the VAST majority of laptops get huge discounts anyway on Pentium products, so I doubt they'd save much if any money with the AMD product, but would lose the Intel marketing and brand name.
3) AMD's strong point is people who build their own computer -- this is extremely rarely done in the laptop market.

I counter these claims. HyperTransport is something AMDs use which is vastly superior to Intel's Hyperthreading. The Athlon 64 is vastly superior to the 32-bit Intel. Again, you need to grow up and learn you can't win in everything.

This can really change.

Um. HyperTransport and HyperThreading are not even close to being related. Further, HyperTransport also have nothing to do with the CPU itself.
HyperTransport is a bus protocol, HyperThreading is a CPU design that allows more than one thread to run at once.

No, you're a fanboi because you said that anything not AMD is crap for you, and nothing would change you rmind.
Which, apparently, includes superior technology, as is evidenced by Intel's release of the Sonoma chipset which will be branded as the next-generation Centrino... which is still superior to AMD's Turion.
Because Sonoma/Centrino isn't AMD's, it must be crap for you. That categorical refusal to even consider another company's product for any real reason at all allows me to confidently and safely level the charge of fanboism against you, and actually have it stick.
On a related note, before you use this against me, my refusal to purcahse ATi's graphics cards is different. The reason why I choose not to support ATi, even though they currently have superior technology to that of nVidia, is because ATi, unlike nVidia, refuses to support linux to any appreciable degree. Because I spend enough time gaming in linux as well as Windows, that lack of support is simply unacceptable.
Thus, my dislike of ATi is not nVidia fanboism, but voting with my wallet; however, your categorical refusal to even consider anything by anyone other than AMD is a case of AMD fanboism.
It does not at this time. AMD has substantial advantage in the desktop market, where its processers are far more advanced then anything else out there, period.
I never disputed this. I simply said that there are perfectly valid reasons for using other x86 (Intel, Via, Transmeta) workstations, as well as using other platforms in general (PPC, MIPS, Sparc...).
However, since none of them are made by AMD, you've dismissed them as being worthless.
Which is a symptom of fanboism.

I never spoke for you, merely pointed out that you and MNG are awfully similar in your methods. MNG has a blind obsession with iGod, and you have a blind obsession with AMD.
