<--- Quote by Former U.S. President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt
"And there will be strange events in the skies--signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. --1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

More religious people become athesits than vice versa.
Because there is a worldwide religious majority, that proves that theory wrong.

Hopefully, now that MNG has slated his two-trick ponyism ("Atheists are teh stupid!" and "Microsoft is teh stupid!") he'll crawl back in a hole for awhile.
This troll is ridiculous, of course. Who gives a damn what a "leading philosopher" says in a friggin foxnews story? It's not as though the world's atheists are just going to say "You're right, without even hearing this guy's arguments for the existence of God, I'm going to blindly assume that his reasoning is sound." Pathetic.
MNG's troll also falls flat on is face due to the fact that the god Flew is acknowledging is a completely different god than the one to which MNG is slavishly devoted. Well MNG, if atheists are supposed to believe in the existence of a deity based on this foxnews article, aren't you now supposed to believe in a deity other than the one depicted in the Bible? Or are you instead being a hypocrite?

Why not find someone with actual credibility, MNG?
Oh, so let me see. A leading Atheist suddenly believes in God and loses his credibility as a result.

That's a bit harsh.
I was surprised that Flew would change his mind at all, but to describe him as a leading philosopher is a bit much.
Leading philosophers do not spend their time worrying about the existence of God. Mind/Brain identity theory, causal theories of reference, emergence - yes. But God? No, that's just something done in first year and in specialist phil of religion courses (zzz).
Well, I don't think MNG cares too much about your criticism.
This is one of your better threads.

Deism can be quite easily refuted. It proposes a first cause which we have no experience of.
Given that we only infer causes from constant conjunctions in nature, we cannot speculate about such a cause, since it only happened once (and that isn't enough) and no-one experienced it (which renders the whole thing silly).
Agathon: The dinosaurs only existed once in the history of the world (as far as we know) and no-one experienced them... Does that mean they didn't exist and is therefor silly?
Of Flew? I didn't intend it to be -- for all I know the guy has something interesting to say about stuff and other assorted things, but, c'mon, I'm not going to take quotations from him in a foxnews article as divine writ.
Of MNG? He shouldn't have made such a stupid troll. Nuts to him.
