They could find a new publisher, Activision is good, I think. Vivendi would suck though. So would Money$oft.

Activision? BAD. The disaster that was CTP...
Vivendi? BAD.
Microsoft? Not great, but they did all right with RON. Mostly because they stayed out of the way.
EA? BAD. Recent things have come to light about their galley sla--er, employees.

Publishing and developing are two different things, all publishers have to do is sit in an office, twiddle their thumbs, and fork over cash.
