Pass a law that the leader(s) of the parties have no say on local nominations for their party
Why should we? Any individual is free to run. The requirements to get on the ballot are ridiculously low. If you want to be a member of a party's caucus then that party has the right to ask that you abide by the rules.

The vast, vast majority of that oil is shale oil. Because shale is a very friable stone with extremel low porosity and permiability it is almost impossible to extract most of Alberta's oil. Thus dispite having high amounts of oil in the ground Alberta's yearly out put is a fraction of Saudi Arabia.
In the US and Canada the highest Petroleum producers are:
1) Texas
2) Alaska
3) Alberta
4) California
5) Louisiana
As the price goes up, the more oil comes out.
Don't fret son, our reserves are here to make the Saudis try to keep the price down. And when theirs is gone, then you can pay us in really big bucks.
Oh, and btw, the oilsands are just starting to be tapped. The technology to get the oil out of there is just beginning to be properly implemented.
Is this bad news for you?

He's not the only one who knows a little bit of physics here. After all, I was in honours physics and astronomy for my first 2 years of university.

Jon, about the only thing I understand is that it has something to do with the Hall effect, and that it seems to be a special case that arises in a specific combination of mediums.
That's about all I can do for you.

Political matters are the most important. Everything else follows.

We are speaking of how all of us are governed, not on how the Woodblind Golf and Country Club wish to restrict membership.
So don't vote for the Country Club candidate. If intraparty democracy is important to you then punish the parties which don't conform to your standards.
Your not a physicist until you're done your third year of undergraduate. That's when you learn all the most important fundamentals.
My understanding is fine.
Just the math that I struggle with, and why I left in the end.

You seem to think that our Parliament functions perfectly right now.
I'm not surprised.
Can't wait for Jack to get his hands on the PMO, can you?

I like independent (from their parties) politicians
it gives me more hope in their ability to do what is right, rather than just doing what is politically expediant
politiicians should only be held accountable to the people they represent, not to party leadership

Some of us do, thank you very much.
