Before I hit 25 I could literally eat anything and not gain weight. Now I need to excercize and watch what I eat or I'll blimp up to 210. At 6'1" that isn't to bad but I like to stay below 200.

Hamburgers as McDonald's isn't good for anything than give you some calories for a short period. I'll recomend that you only eat that stuff as a last resort.

Oerdin: With your work, calories, i think, are essential unless of course all your walking is done by wheel. What part of the planet are you working in where there are more Mac's than local restaurants ?

In many parts of the American west there are no towns and instead there are only the occational truck stop every 80-100 miles. Most of these truck stops will have a fast food joint.

I wouldn't recomend this person to go to any arctic region, the locals would think it was a walrus.

They're telling me that will happen to me. Then, in my teens they told me I'd get fat when I stopped growing.

For the moment, my problem remains avoiding to lose weight.

Sorry, my prejudices. Living in a country with approx 50 km between major cites ( > 50.000, yeah, just start laughing :-) gives another perspective.

Actually you need protein, and in decent amounts. McDs is a cheap source.

Btw, I hear the Roethlis-burger sold in Pittsburgh is even more massive... including 1/2 pound of burger and 1/2 of sausage for a full pound of goodness.

                        • As the article you yourself pointed out, those don;t come close to this monster.

But they are the biggest, unhealthiest burgers each have.

Fries are not just a "side" I bet a lot of people buy some "healthy" item and a fries too.

If they buy a healthy item and fries, wouldn't that just bolster my claim that they are a side? Btw, I've never seen anyone get a salad and fries.

You claimed some imagined customer backlash against healthier food at fast food locals.

Yeah, and this is part of it. People like their Big Macs and Whoppers... Hardees is saying screw the healthy food, we are giving fast food lovers what they crave.

Satisfying a craving is different from saying a burger is better than some real meal- of course when you have a craving something will taste good- that is not to say that if I have a craving for peanuts, I will claim good peanuts are the best food EVER....

When you have a craving, the burger will be better than the 'real meal' . And what is a 'real meal'? Some home cooked stuff? Something in a sit down restaurant? The burger is just as good, why do you think it is consumed so much by Americans, and not just because they are fast... what do you think Americans grill when they have their backyard grilling parties? Burgers, as American as Apple Pie.

Besides, if we are talking about sit down restaurants, plenty of them serve burgers as well.

And the fact that a lot of americans are fond of burning meat in their backyards should be a proof of the healthyness of burgers ??? Please try to be serious.

                            • When was about health? Who CARES about health? I'm talking about whether burgers taste better than what GePap snootily describes as a 'real meal'.

Please read the thread before posting, will you?

Oh, yes, the snooty 'real meal", like sitting down for a course of say stew or soup.

Yes, by real meal I mean something that goes nore than one course, and is more than one item- heck, someone could have a burger meal if they like. But in the end, If I can get a nice curry plate with a somosa for that 7bucks, I think that is better.
