Because centrist Democrats like Clinton aren't Republicans. Because the democrats are going to work for the average man and not the big corporations, because the Democrats are going to help you and your family get the education you need in the modern world, because the centrists are going to be strong on defense but not give away billions to defense contractors who don't perform, because unlike the neo-cons the centrists know how to balance the budget, because centrist Democrats are going to put people first along with small businesses and entrepreneurs.
It doesn’t hurt that the centrists can work successfully with our allies to go after Al Qaeda and we won’t take our eye off of Al Qaeda tell the job is done and OBL is swinging from a tree.
I completely agree. I voted for Bush but I would vote for Hillary too. You guys should put Hillary as your candidate, she would win easy.
Be careful what you wish for.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
No, I don't. But I think someone can look less credible on foreign policy, and I think the ex-governor of a teeny-weeny state best known for Cherry Garcia Ice Cream and re-electing Congress's only socialist is just such a person.
And what is Bush exactly? an ex-governor of a universally laughed-at state, known in diplomatic circles for his ignorance.
Most foreign affairs are done through professional and competent diplomats, so as long as the president sets intelligent guidelines his boys will do the job.
I was talking about high taxes and more social programs.
Please reread the part about the ideal candidate being a fiscal conservative. Yes, it does help if you argue about what people say and not what you wish they'd say.

It could happen if both parties put up a woman candidate at the same time. But I don't think the primary timing will ever allow that. One party will flinch and chicken out, thus forcing the other party not to put their woman candidate up for presidency.
I figure it will be at least another 20 years before we see a female president.
I would have disagreed with you never statement but you already did yourself.
20 year timeframe or something like that seems reasonnable to me, with what I know of US politics.
I would be a bit more cautious, and say at least in the next 3 elections, (12 years) there will be no woman president.

The Republicans have done this absolutely brilliantly. Take "tax relief" for instance. You can't argue against it with a two-word phrase of your own (in the current debate), you need at least a few sentences. George Lakoff has written a couple excellent books on this, which I highly recommend.
Fiscal Responsibility. However the Democrats would have to establish that they can indeed do that.
The easiest way to balance the budget is to kill off the elderly.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

We would need the the "Logan's Run" constitutional amendment.
