      Boy, aren't we all pessamisists.

The pro-life folks think it won't be outlawed, and the pro-choice people all do.

Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

          Hopefully indeed.

Whoever legalized the murder of innocent kids after 5 months in the womb is surely rotting in a special kind of hell.

When states start banning things such as abortion or gay marriage, they'll soon come to realize that it carries an economic cost as some people will be less willing to move there.

I'd go move there, to work, and pay my dues to that state.

Sure some people would move away, but others would move in.

I mean, not having to pay money to support abortion? Heaven.

Also, look at the disparities in the abortion rate across the country.

This is why you have the red states increasing in power, while the blue states are in terminal decline. Fewer babies, mean less adults.

American Law is built on legal precedent or the notion that society has changed sufficiently so that a new legal interpretation is necessary- exactly what legal precedent would allow for the overthrow of Roe vs. Wade? And has society changed enough to make overthrowing Roe vs. Wade a reality?

It would take some massive judicial activsm to do it.

                    I'm pro-choice, but I hate Planned Parenthood

Also, I think people should take more responsibilities for their actions, and if they are too stupid to get knocked up than they should bare the burden for 9 months and give the damn kid to someone who wants it (and there are plenty of those people)...

                    I'm pro-choice, because I can't address each situation.

Reasons for abortion; medical or psychological ailments that would prevent the parent from delivering a healthy child without harm to the parent... any more?

Not wanting to be pregnant for 9 months?

Not thinking that once born, the child will have a good life?

The same reasons people have 95% of cosmetic surgeries?

Secondly, you look at the Democrats. How can they, by any stretch of the word, be considered 'populist?' They are the party of Hollywood, of the liberal intelligentsia, of the elite.
Most socially conservative religious people get really very, very, very little out of tax breaks for the rich. They could use some assistance with their healthcare. Their moms and dads could use a little more than token assistance with drug costs.

I seem to remember O'Connor's claim that abortion has become an essential part of American society in the PP vs Casey decision.

What has changed? People now see what the abortion industry has become, and how legal abortion has hurt the country.

They have a much greater understanding of the nature of the unborn child, and of fetal development. The trimester framework surrounding Roe no longer sustains scientific scrutiny.

Roe, as the epitome of judicial activism, cannot hide behind the veil of Stare Decisis.

So boys get to have all the fun they want, but girls have to stick with it?

Who are YOU to decide a woman must carry a pregnancy to term?
