  • Yeah, but then there are those of us who are liberal and have guns
    Guns are so 20th century, it's all about information warfare now.

    There are reasons why I believe mankind should live in cities and let nature reclaim all the villages with the exception of a few we keep on display as horrific reminders of rural life.-Starchild

      Then what are all those 'liberals' killing each other with in the cities? Harsh language?

      I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

            • Kevin Brennan:

              Via Adam Daifallah, I came across this map of Canada's election results. It's interesting, to say the least. And worrying.

              Visually, it makes clear that we do have real regional divisions in Canada. The map shows that Parliament seems to be divided into regional blocs. The NDP is concentrated in Northern B.C. and Manitoba, with a few ridings in Northern Ontario and urban centres. The Conservatives took most of the West a ring of ridings around the GTA, and a strip along the New Brunswick/Nova Scotia border. The Liberals won most urban centres, anglophone Quebec, and Northern Ontario. The rest of Quebec, of course, went BQ.

              No, the actual vote wasn't as regionally divided as the results. Nevertheless, it's hard to look at this map and argue convincingly that we have any truly national parties right now.

              Orange = NDP
              Red = Liberals
              Navy = Conservatives
              Sky Blue = Bloc Quebecois

              • You know, if Canada would join the US, the balance of power would alter drastically and we'd finally outnumber the hillbillys. Would Canada be willing to put its national pride aside in the name of sanity?

                The plans have already been drawn up to...

                    THere are still liberals but the are on the fringe

                    Most of us Progressives are people who stand for pragmatic social change tempered by smart fiscal policy --> Clinton

                      Mostly in blogs, here are a few places I have seen it discussed (albeit in a somewhat tongue in cheek way in some cases.)

                      The second link includes just a brief paragraph on the subject at the end.
