  • Why is Winconsin called with only a 24000 difference while Iowa (16000 difference) and New Mexico (12000 difference) aren't called yet.

While Winconsin is a bigger state, so in % the race is even more close overthere then in Iowa and NM.

    WHY?

    • Why isn't Ohio called with a ~140,000 vote difference? The media doesn't want to admit that their boy lost...

      • KERREY: Well, I hope Marc's right. I hope it doesn't happen but my guess is and I don't have any influence over John Kerry and the DNC. My advice to him would be not to litigate.

        KING: Not to litigate?

KERREY: Not to litigate. I mean, look, you've got an exceptionally difficult period in the history of mankind. I disagree with Marc on why it's troubled times. I think it's part troubled because of the way the Iraq War has been conducted but it is a troubled time, a difficult time and not to have a president of the United States inaugurated and a peaceful transition one way or the other (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
        …

But I would prefer that I mean if it's a close -- if it's close and there's an opportunity to litigate, I would say to John Kerry don't litigate. Let Bush be the president.

Is Kerry going to take the high road and concede?

        • So, what's up with the chad's of Ohio?

I think that the 250 000 uncounted votes from Ohio are mail-votes from oversees - from the soldiers and such. And those 250 000 votes could change the 140 000 vote difference.

I can't remember a single instance of the Republicans (as opposed to a Republican or two) filibustering when they were in the minority of the Senate, do you have a cite? Filibusters have been extremely rare for several decades now, procedural delays are in now.

Kerry is choosing to drag himself, and the Republic, through the mud.

                Kerry.

                Even Nixon didn't do it.

It is his fault for not reading the system and the people as well as he should of, and not getting the best manager.

His campaign was pretty weak, considering everything there was to throw at Bush.*

                  • I can't say I'm surprised that the Dems can't concede defeat, again. Not really close enough for them to whine for the next 4 years, though...

                    • Fox estimates it's 269 - 242, CNN says 254 - 252 right now. If I wanted wishful thinking rather than to know what's actually going on, I'd have gone to the BBC's website.

                        • Andy Card from the White house just announced GWBush to be the winner! He also says, that Bush got more votes than any other president candidate in the history of USA (sorry, I'd have only a finnish link to provide).

Those votes will be counted. But we don't need to pretend that the election isn't decided when, in fact, it is.

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

                              • Kerry still has a (very small) chance. And in light of what happened in 2000 it's not surprising that they want to wait before they concede defeat.
