I also said Kerry was responsible for the poor campaign, in the very text you quoted. Please reread it again.

OH and your little tirade against the evilness of Rove was what?? Your only complaint against Kerry is that he mismanaged a little. But the evil Republicans conspired and the ignorant Americans are too dumb to see the real issues.

If your system is so flawed, and the results just can't be trusted, what's to stop the Army from saying that they are preserving the Republic by overturning any given election that the Cheif of Staff thinks went the wrong way?

Do you see where this leads?

Count the votes and accept it. Don't be a *****.
That's a nice little Stawman, but I pointed out facts that Bush Supporters have been shown to not believe.

Fact: Iraq had no WMDs when it was invaded.

Fact: Multiple intelligence angencies confirmed the above after the invasion; no intelligence agency thinks there are WMDs in Iraq.

Fact: Iraq had no substantial connection to Al Qaeda

Fact: The 9/11 Comission confirmed the above item.

Most Bush supporters think the opposite of the 1st and 3rd fact, and think they are confirmed too.

All I said was that this sort of delusion damages an honest democratic system. This is a bit unrelated to the below, since fixing the electoral college won't fix this. (I failed to properly indicate this distinction before).

In any case, we are not a terribly good democratic system and do need reform. Kerry can do that, and he should demonstrate the errors of the current system whilst doing so. This means aggressively persuing electoral votes as much as possible (but he probably won't get the votes he needs anyhow, and so ends his attempt). If he does happen to get the votes he needs to win Ohio, for instance, then the flaw in the electoral college will be clearly seen and hopefully addressed in the near future (changed to a direct popular vote, hopefully).

I am not proposing going against any current law; just using the current system to demonstrate its flaws. However, as I said, it probably won't work as he probably can't get the votes he needs in Ohio no matter what.

If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief -- I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper -- that makes this country work." - Barack Obama

It is pretty easy to find legitimate news items on what Rove has done throughout his career; you should try it.

If you don't want to try it I'll get you something in about 12 hours. I really need to get to bed soon and I don't want to deal with the internet search at the moment.

          • Best Bunka no Hi, ever!!!

Ah, what a great day. Spent most of the day carrying a mikoshi and bonding with my community. Then, I had a ****ing fantastic feast at the home of one of my Japanese friends. And now, I come home to see that the American people have made the right choice for the future of our great nation, the greatest in the history of the world. God bless Japan! God bless America! God bless Bush!!!

I trust Rove about as much as I trusted Kerry. All the people I would trust would never run for the office to begin with.

Get someone in 08 that I would trust and I'll vote Democrat.

Are we going to challenge electors on what they believe now?

What sort of autocracy do you propose?

                    • BTW, the Army could 'correct' your system more assuradely than Kerry ever could.

Do you really want your system fixed based on election night recriminations?

I, too, am willing to listen to anyone's opinion before giving it the consideration it is due.
