I've been voting for over 30 years, and one thing is consisently clear over that time -- Power corrupts!
My mantra -- "If they're IN, vote them OUT!"
Over the past decade, I have refused to vote for any incumbent. I've seen too many good men fall while in office. They become slaves to special interests, spend all their efforts trying for re-election, and/or become slaves to polls in their legislative voting.
If I had the time, opportunity, and energy, I'd try to turn this into a real political movement.
Things are run pretty well in Lansing, IMO. My water's clean and flows regularly, so the Drain Commissioner is obviously doing his job."People sit in chairs!" - Bobby Baccalieri

Another Kerry here .... even if it was more of a 'not-Bush' kind of voteIn my precinct here in TX, we only had Bush Kerry and the Libertarian fellow. Who I know nothing about thanks to the 'blind to any 3rd parties unless they have bling-bling' media in this country
Oh and outside that, Independents, Libertarian, women, and Democrats in that order. Nothing wrong with Republicans really, I just don't like people taking for granted that Texas will always go Repub! ^^Last edited by Makahlua; November 2, 2004, 11:32.But there's no sense crying over every mistake. One thing I do feel sort of guilty about is that I did vote for someone that I honestly didn't have a lot of information on. It was a local JP and I just moved here 5 months ago.Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

Just got done voting. I had to wait in line for over an hour. This is my 7th Presidential vote and I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes before."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Just out of curiousity how do other people vote for the pissant little offices like Register of Probate?
Basically if there's ever a Libertarian or leftist Third Party candidate I vote for them otherwise I vote for Democrats since I really try to avoid voting for Republicans. When there's only a Republican on the ballot (happens sometimes in northern Maine) I give Sparky the Wonder Penguin a write-in.
For congress I voted for some random Socialist party as a protest vote, since my congressman has pissed me off by being an annoyingly social conservative and protectionist Democrat.Stop Quoting Ben
