And I'll agree that the Catholic church should clean up it's own act in regards to all the kiddie diddling.
But I don't see what that has to do about an individual voicing his own opinion. Yes, it might be viewed as scare coercion tactics. Labor unions have perfected coercion tactics.

I don't agree with unions doing it either... but the thing about unions is... They don't necessarily have any standing to tell someone they are EVIL or GOING TO HELL or NEED CONFESSION.
The church can be pro-Bush... that's fine... but don't tell people they are sinning voting for Kerry. That's just retarded.
It's a part of Catholic doctrine. Catholics, presumably, believe in Catholic doctrine. Therefore, as long as the statement is actually a true statement, there's no problem at all, it's just empirical fact.
However, even if it WERE just the Bishop's opinion... so what? Isn't the point of freedom of religion being able to freely state your religious or moral beliefs? If you think abortion is wrong, then CLEARLY there's something wrong with voting for someone who supports abortion (though there are other issues and it may be the lesser of two evils).
I'm just happy that my years of being an alter boy didn't lead to childhood trauma.

It doesn't matter what ****ing organization we're talking about.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
While not a big fan also, organization have as much right as individuals to participate in the political process.
Anything less would be undemocratic.

Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh
