Hmm, something like 1300 GMT to 0400 GMT, with informal exit polls done constantly, and the reports on the counting coming in constantly as the night goes on.

It might not be known who one until 24 hours or more after the voting has started. It depends on how it goes.

      • Something to consider when determining who will win the election is the weather

Bad weather tends to favor the Republicans and good weather favors democrats. Mainly because democrats are poorer and usually on foot and get discouraged by bad weather easiler. Also Zogby just did a poll or cell phone users and found Kerry leads Bush by 15%

Also, it looks like Bush may not the support from evangicals that he was expecting.

With that and the tendency of undecided voters going to Kerry a little more then Bush, I'd say Kerry's going to win this election. It's still is going to be a very close election though.

It's amazing what people can convince themselves of.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

It won't make them vote for Kerry, but it will decrease turnout for Bush.

If the Washington Redskins loose their last match before the election, the incumbent is always defeated. Vice-versa as well.

Also, the Candidate with the biggest hair tends to win, although that's not as scientific as the Redskins one, as hair size is subjective.

                          • ack!
The candidate leading on Labour Day will win the election. Bush was leading this year. He led slightly on Labour Day in 2000 iirc.

                              • Kerry seems to have the momentum going into the vote - if Bush was safe Kerry should be deadmeat by now.
