    Typical example of class warfare. It's base is the prejudice that poor people are that way by fault of their own. That's the justification of it, but you really know that poor people don't have the same options. Please tell me that you can't be so dumb as to think otherwise. I know you aren't.

      Knowledge is Power, Time is Money and, as everyone knows, Power is Work divided by Time.

      So, substituting algebraic equations for these time worn bits of wisdom, we get:

      K = P (1)

      T = M (2)
      P = W/T (3)
      Now, do a few simple substitutions:

      Put W/T in for P in equation (1), which yields:

      K = W/T (4)
      Put M in for T into equation (4), which yields:
      K = W/M (5).
      Now we've got something. Expanding back into English, we get:

      Knowledge equals Work divided by Money.
      What this MEANS is that:

      1. The More You Know, the More Work You Do,
      and
      2. The More You Know, the Less Money You Make.
      Solving for Money, we get:

      M = W/K (6)
      Money equals Work divided by Knowledge.
      From equation (6) we see that Money approaches infinity as Knowledge approaches 0, regardless of the Work done.

      What THIS MEANS is:

      The More you Make, the Less you Know.
      Solving for Work, we get

      W = M x K (7)
      Work equals Money times Knowledge
      From equation (7) we see that Work approaches 0 as Knowledge approaches 0.

      What THIS MEANS is:

      The stupid rich do little or no work.

            Are you telling me you're incapable of either moving, making more money or spending less money on non-essential things?

            Try day labor on the weekends to make some extra money. I've been doing it lately. Two Saturdays ago, the best paying job of the day was digging an irrigation ditch in saturated clayey soil. It was a suck-ass job, but I got paid, got a better workout than I would have at the gym, and I'm still managing to make sure I have positive cashflow each month, regardless of how slow things are in my main work.

            So don't whine to me about class warfare horse**** - I'm doing prole work too, and still moving ahead.

                  This, from the guy who started a thread recently about having $5000 to gamble with.

                  How did that go, by the way, or did you come to your senses?

                    At the moment, yes. There are a lot of people like me. I find it incredible that you don't believe me. In fact, I don't believe that you don't believe me.

                      hehe. I didn't do it. Not that it would help me find a place to live.

                        Are you working double shifts during the weekdays? Working on Saturday or Sunday? Fenced into your apartment with a ball and chain and surrounded by multiple strands of concertina and a minefield or else suffer from quadriplegia or a triple or higher amputee? Don't drink, smoke, do dope, eat junk food or spend money on any unnecessary items at all, ever?

                        When my work slowed down, I managed to move and to pick up extra work of whatever was available, whether I was too good for it or not , rather than sit and whine about how unfair life is.

                          So what happened to the 5 grand? I know you can't buy a house for that, but it's either a) a part of a downpayment; or b) several months rent...

                            THERE IS NO WORK HERE! Not that I have any time to do work while I go to school. My problem isn't money at the moment. Even if I worked an extra job I would not be able to rent an apartment here, because my income would not be high enough. They don't even count college loans.

                              Neither of those work for me. They won't even take several months rent. They don't have to. They can find someone with higher income easily. The problem is that there isn't enough housing for the poor.

                                Move then. Somewhere with a better housing situation (i.e. anyplace other than CA).
