            2) Kerry's Iraq "plan" is virtually identical to what Bush is and has been doing. So much for Kerry's demand for a "change" in course.

            3) Kerry has no idea on how to defeat terrorism. Bush does. Kerry will use America's power -- without much more. Bush will bring democracy and hope to the Muslim world.
Kerry could have the same plan and get more support from the Iraqi people and the international community based on Iraqi/international opinion and receptiveness of Bush vs there opinion and receptiveness of Kerry. It's quite likely that a change in the face of america would garner more support. Sometimes it's not the plan but how it's sold and implemented that makes the biggest difference.

Sorry. I don't buy that. Foreign leaders are not going to send their troops to DIE in Iraq simply because they like Kerry more than Bush.

The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Now, Saddam Hussein is captured. Now what? USA tries to forcefeed 'democracy and hope' to the Iraqi people? The last year indicates, that they aren't doing very good job, so there must be something wrong. But what? Maybe they don't want democracy - at least the kind of democracy USA is offering them.

And what's this talk about "western world versus muslim world"? That does not compute: west is a word for direction, and muslim is a word for religious 'alignment'. The correct term should be 'christian world vs muslim world' (and perhaps the word world after the christians should be replaced with USA-and-it's-allies-minus-some-muslim-countries').

                  @Ned:
You mentioned the oil-for-food program & Iraq - Al-Qaeda connections in FoxNews. I think that's pretty far-fetched from Fox trying to link them together. USA&Iraq and USA&Al-Qaeda has considerable common history. There would be a much better link between Iraq and Al-Qaeda if you just put USA in between them.
I just love it when Kerry supporters say that the only solution to the problems of terror is to SUPPORT ruthless, mass murdering, raping, torturing DICTATORS, who of course, are better for their people than any democracy.

                  • As to the Oil-for-food program funding terror - note that Kerry now limits his Saddam-al Qa'ida connections exclusions to "9/11" and "operational" support. He seemingly acknowledges what FOX News reports, that Saddam was funding terrorist organizations, including al Qa'ida.

What is incompetent about how the Bush adminstration is handling things? Please name some things. And start by presenting an alternate plan. You leftists are so full of yourself... you scream your lungs out about how wrong and incompetent the Bush adminstration is but you can't come up with an alternate plan even if you tried.

No, Ramo, you are dead wrong. The speech doesn't highlight anything incompetent about the bush adminstration.. rather it highlights the idiocy and stupidity of Kerry and his idiotic statements that mean nothing.
                      1. The situation in Iraq would have been better if we were not in Iraq. 0 american casualties, 0 american torture, and 0 heads chopped off.

                      2. Now, the idea of staying the course when the course is the wrong way to go is not one to be applauded. It would be a smart idea to let someone else drive.

                      3. We are judging Kerry on his ability to get us out of a situation some one else got us into. Between the guy who got us into the mess and the guy who did not who is the most qualified to get us out of it. Common sense would tell you not to let the guy who wrecks your car keep driving it.

NO, but they will if they think the US won't be solely in charge and they get a say in the run of military affairs- or if they get to bet for contracts in Iraq (if you think they care only about money), or if they think they won;t be doing the bidding of the US with zero reward for them-which is essentially the situation now.

                          Sounds like BS to me.

Apart for the fact that Kerry would not have invaded Iraq in the first place, this is probably true. Now you are stuck in Iraq, no matter who is president.

                          3) Kerry has no idea on how to defeat terrorism. Bush does.
If Bush knows how to defeat terrorism, how come the number of global terror attacks against Westerners and America's allies has reached an all-time high?

Bush will bring democracy and hope to the Muslim world.
They hate you (and all us whities) more than ever. Thanks mr Bush!

I plan to print key excerpts, and carry them with me, along with a photocopy of my completed absentee ballot. Then I will be prepared for the next time I have to endure a lecture on Iraq from some ill-informed Chinese person.

Some of us have have yet another reason to loathe Bush - his impact on the personal lives of Americans abroad.
