Russia prepared for pre-emptive strikes on 'terror bases' worldwide

Yep, the thing I feared the most after Bush claimed the right to do this (I'm not saying it was a bad thing, I'm saying I was afraid other countries start doing it too and use the same words).

"MOSCOW (AFP) - Russia is prepared to make pre-emptive strikes on "terrorist bases" anywhere in the world, the Interfax news agency cited the country's chief of staff as saying.

"With regard to preventive strikes on terrorist bases, we will take any action to eliminate terrorist bases in any region of the world. But this does not mean we will carry out nuclear strikes," General Yuri Baluyevsky said Wednesday.

Baluyevsky added that Russia's choice of action "will be determined by the concrete situation where ever it may be in the world.

"Military action is the last resort in the fight agaisnt terrorism."

Well, here's hoping that they won't abuse this new strategy, but if decide doing this, will use it wisely. Otherwise we are starting to have a very dangerous and weird period of time in this world.

And you do realize, that if they wanted somehow to damage us (which they don't because were friendlies, but for the sake of the argument), they woudl claim terrorist activity in here, or at the very least some weird things, demand us to take control of it, but we really can't take control over something that doesn't exists, and.. basically if trhey would now want to, they could attack us anywhere, and you would all believe it was righteous pre-emtpive strike against some imaginary terrorists. Now you say 'I wouldn't believe it for one second!'. Yeah you would, provided with 'good proof'.

But Pekka, if provided with good enough proof, we'd have taken care of it ourselves. If it didn't exist, there'd be no way to provide good enough proof to convince us to allow Russian troops to attack anywhere in America.
