Putin is really hugely pissed, the Russians are marching in the streets for action. It would be great if the US and Russia could combine to kick Iran's tail. The US supplying the mobile forces and air while the Russians did the heavy ground work.

"Russian vow 'a threat to everyone' Sep 8 2004

Russia's threat to target "terrorists anywhere" is a danger to Britain, Europe and the rest of the world, a top Chechen separatist based in the UK has warned.

Akhmed Zakayev said the vow meant Russia may try to assassinate Chechens wherever they are, regardless of international boundaries.

And he warned that sent out a "very disturbing signal to all civilised countries".

Mr Zakayev, an envoy for Chechen separatist leader Aslan Maskhadov, also rejected claims by Russia that he should face a renewed extradition attempt following the Beslan school massacre.

The separatist, who has been granted asylum, spoke out after Colonel General Yuri Baluyevsky, chief of the Russian General Staff. reasserted the country's right to strike at terrorists the world over.

Mr Zakayev said: "I think these are probably not empty threats, in fact they have already shown in practice that that is the way they do things.

"It is a very disturbing signal they are sending for all civilised countries.

"There are lots of Chechens all over the world and of course they talk freely about how dissatisfied they are with Putin's policies.

"To Putin, that makes them international terrorists. It is a warning to other European countries that Russia may come and carry out an assassination on your soil at any moment."

In February this year, two Russian agents assassinated Chechen rebel leader Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev in a car bomb attack in Qatar."

Maybe its a threat to this guy.

actually it would just be great if they'd agree to stop building the nuclear power plant for the Mullahs.

If other countries are granting political asylum to the terrorists Russia has been trying to get extradited then I think assasinations even in western countires against those terrorists might be their best option.

                    Putin is a democratic dictator
He censors press and shuts down ppl that are not of his opinion. I hate him even more than Bush and Berlusconi combined.

You are simply angry that under Putin Russia is rebuilding itself. Its no secret that Europe harbours little love for neither Russia nor its people.

THEY MUST ASSASSINATE ALL TERRORISTS EVERYWHERE. International boundaries should mean nothing. There should be a joint global defense agency including Russia and the US that specializes in assassinating terrorists (including these Chechnen monsters).

Putin should be praised for this (****, I'm agreeing with Tass).
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Dare ye speak ill of the Lord God Putin? You have been found to be harboring terrorists and will now be dealt with appropriately.

I really don't think that Russia is able to back up Putnin's threats. They may be able to attack neighboring nations, like Georgia, but they don't have the capability to reach out far beyond their borders like the US does. Furthermore they're not known for their precision strikes. If Russia decided to try something like Afghanistan or Iraq it would launch a WW2 like attack. Absolutely nothing would be left of the target.

Assasinations? I thought they withdrew all of the old KGB cells.

Britain should make Zakayev a birthday present to Putnin.
