The article takes a bunch of separate statements and tries to put them together out of context.
Linux is not stealing Microsoft's PC business.
It is getting totally PWN3D
Nobody buys a pc to install Linux on it
You take your 5 year old loser pc that you don't use anymore and "play" with LinuxWe the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. - Abraham Lincoln

Actually, new pcs with LINUX installed are being sold quite frequently these days. It's getting quite user friendly. I hardly recognize it anymore.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

<--- Quote by Former U.S. President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt
"And there will be strange events in the skies--signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. --1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Sorry to rain on the parade, but not once has Windows lost marketshare in the desktop or in the server.
Every year, sales increase and marketshare rises. Even well after 1998, when the Linux pundits began predicting Windows' demise. On the desktop, it's just not going anywhere. On the server, it's making gains -- but equal gains made by Microsoft. The gains they're making are not at the expense of Microsoft usually, but at the expensive of the big-box Unix vendors. Another point the Linux pundits ignore.
Linux is a niche OS for desktops, and a cheap OS for servers. That's all it will be.
If the people predicting Linux becoming a majority, or even equal, marketshare actually had any idea about the markets they're ranting about, they would not have such an opinion.
They'll wave their hands and ignore the reports of Windows sales increasing (indeed, they'll latch onto obscure reports -- I recall when XP was released UR was talking about how poor it was selling...), and then chant about how Linux is going to take over.
The Linux pundits are not unlike a cult that is awaiting the apocalypse..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
