        • The Russians have had a much better history with dealing with fundamentalists, having been going after them since 1918. The US has only recently flipped into opposing Islam, and has its own fundy problems at home.

This is a major terrorist attack here! From the media, you'd think it's something routine.
            Good point

I'd have to say no since I don't have the body part in question.

Well certainly it should have received more attention than it did, but it certainly was the headline on CNN's website for at least part of one day and has been one of the headlines on the CNN front page for almost a week now. I also saw it mentioned a couple days ago on nbc evening news (the only day i've watched the news on tv recently). People shouldn't get the impression that this is being ignored to the extant that some earlier terrorist attacks against russians were ignored.

I ask again. When have we given much air play to the Russian war in Chechnya? This wasn't going to change things that much. Which is to Russia's benefit.

                      • Terrorists live for air time. I personally think we should deny them any air time as much as possible.

                        • so now we move onto the important question.

What will Russia's response be? True this isn't as severe as 9/11. But I would expect a harsh response if they find out who is responsible. Would they go ape **** like the U.S. did and bomb everyone? .

The funny thing is their response will be unilateral. They can get away with it, but the U.S. can't. hmmm

                          • Since the Russians consider the problem to be an internal matter why would they go to the UN? They aren't going to ask France or Germany or anyone to saction what they will do. They will go in there and bomb whatever they want and I don't think the French or America for that matter will say anything more than a " be careful and don't kill too many people" In many ways their problem is far simpler than what faces the United States.

                            • Is terrorism against the U.S. also not an internal matter? You don't see Al Quida attacking anyone else but the U.S.
