  • aneeshm, we've not elected our leadership yet, and have no immigration policy, but even if we did, I can't see us turning anyone out who wanted to make their own "Great Escape."

The printing press, we could sorely use, although specific details would have to be worked out once there's a government in place to make those kinds of decisions, and the potato chips, we could REALLY use, no government involvement needed...

    • Thanks for the open immigration . For some time , I'll stay in Ki-dystopia and have my fleet of private boats send over the chip supplies - don't worry , the covers are biodegradable ( made of corn fiber , they last but will ultimately rot , like cloth really ), you can use them as paper . And the machines to print notes will be sent via the chip-bags - some will contain mechanical parts . Two of the people unloading the chips will really be technicians , and will set up the machines to print notes . Another is an PhD in paper-making , and will adapt the machine used for making pulp out of ordinary waste into a machine used to make pulp and paper out of the chip-bags and tha indigenous fibrous plants .

The first year , I will stay back . Then , I will hand over management over to someone who will keep our interests in mind . By then , I will also have paid the research department to find out and adapt existing machines on how to make chips out of coconut and other crops the island grows . I will also smugle agricultural implements - not tools - of the highest quality .

After being addicted to free coconut and banana chips ( yes , there actually are banana chips , they exist in India , and yes , they taste lovely ) , I'll start charging a nominal amount in the beginning . Then we'll see what the market can bear .

And for the first year , you get free paper , potato chips , and transport for your agent ( Tube ) . All machinery will be smuggled in through the chip-packets .

      Sounds all right ?

        • I hope you have banana plants on your island - if not , don't worry , within the next three wonths , we'll transport then whole from Ki-dystopis .

And about me having a fleet of boats - I prefer to do my own shipping , because I don't want the officials of Ki-dystopia deciding that the workers' need of freight is greater than mine , even if I'm willing to pay more , and that they will deny me transport .

          • I hear you, brother aneeshm, and if at all possible, when you come, bring that fleet with you...we'll REALLY be rolling then!

Having done some research on islands in the area, there's actually a staggering array of fruits and veggies that grow there. Not much in the meat department other than the obvious seafood, but :: shrug:: there's a lot of different TYPES of fish, at least...

All that to say, yep, nanners and coconuts we can count on, as well as several other little delicacies.

Almost makes me wish I had moved to Saipan when I had the opportunity....*sigh*

            • A few of the bigger transports can be converted to trawlers , so that they can go farther off-coast . And they can store more fish , too .

My agriculturist ( the one I hired today by offering him thrice what Kid's officials were paying him ) will be happy to work out whatever it is you need to convert those veggie islands into agricultural settlements . You can start the process of economic dominaiton by exporting veggies unavailable in Ki-dystopia to my factories - which will be happy to process them . I'll be equally happy to pay you in tool - I mean implements , or anything you require .

You must not neglest the indigenous spices . Historically , this is what allowed the Indian (the India in Asia) southern tropical coastal regions to grow rich . These are real luxuries in Ki-dystopia . They will both help your currency and my business in Kidland . The agricuturist will also help you with this . Spiced/preserved fruit and exotic alcohol products from indigenous fruit enhanced with spice - I see huge profits in smuggling/trading with Kidland on the black market .

Good luck . Hope you include my contributions of chips ( and mainly of chips ) in your next write-up .

              • Count on it! Transportation time means that they'll not actually have arrived yet, but the next write up will most definitely include our new Short-Wave radio contact, and rumors of chips en route...

                      • Why's that, JM? And if they're one of our staple food supplies on Liberty, you can bet we'll take very good care of them

Eh. Don't worry about 10 years. You won't make it 10 days.
