Oh, and by the way, Azazel,

So, if a person takes a loan, should his kids pay it, for example, if he's dead?
This scenario also isn't the same thing. A closer example would be "If a person takes a loan, and he dies, and the bank goes out of business, should his great-grandchildren pay the loan back to another bank?" I'll let you figure out the answer to that.

Interesting, it appears from this thread that black people are supposed to think a certain way. Isn't that a racist notion?

Keyes has been really screwing up ever since he got in this race. When Hillary ran for senate in NY Keyes was calling her a carpetbagger etc and how he would NEVER imitate her. So now that he's imitating her? "The people called upon me to serve"... Yeah yeah, how many times have we heard that? Wasn't that Bill Clinton's excuse after he told Arkansans he wouldn't run for a different office if they elected him governor? So he gets elected and starts running for Prez and explains how he went around Arkansas asking people for permission to run and they told him to go for it... "we need you as Prez, Bill"...

Several years after my graduation one of my favorite high school teachers was fired because he was "racist."

He embraced the "white" culture of achievement, that achievement is measurable, and should be rewarded.

He hated the "black" culture of entitlement, unwed motherhood, anti-intellectualism, etc. He firmly believed that kids who didn't study and therefore fail should, indeed, be failed and suffer the consequences.

He made the mistake of speaking his mind one day, and it got him fired. Oh, and yes, he is himself black.

So you're saying the term 'racist' has become so barren of meaning that now it can have positive meanings?

                    • wow... we got kidicious and Sava saying Black people act a certain way... and David Floyd saying Black people benefit from slavery and they should accept a boat ride back to Africa if they whine about reparations...

wow... no escaping blatant racism on apolyton. really guys, I always tell people that racism is dead in America and we live in an enlightened time... but you people ruin my beautiful conception of peace and brotherhood. WHY?! WHY must you all be pseudo-Klansmen?!

yes and this professor wasn't saying anything new... Malcolm X said it... Farrakhan says it... Cosby says it... Spike Lee says it... even Jesse Jackson says it...

the professor just made the mistake of using the terms white and black, but in a sense where anyone who wasnt ready to explode and cry racism would have understood them...

It's quite possible that he meant to say black and white. At any rate, you can't do that as a teacher. You are suppose to be a leader and earn the respect of your students.

he was paraphrasing the words of other leaders like the ones I mentioned earlier. he was addressing the issue that is at the very crux of the Black situation in America. My mind is boggled by the fact that you don't understand this. if it weren't for the social problems in the poor Black community, all those bad statistics about teenage pregnancy rates and crime and poverty and welfare rolls... all of that would disappear
