Most Egyptologists place the date of the Sphinx's origin at 2,500 BCE. There is weathering evidence that is consistent with water erosion, but that's all the physical and historical evidence that the Sphinx might have been built much earlier.

Regardless, even taking it as fact that the Sphinx was built at 10,500 BCE, there is nothing to suggest that aliens were involved in the construction of the object.

Desertification is a byproduct of bad agricultural processes, not mining processes. Mines tend to be in areas where the farming isn't all that good... like mountains.

Ancient Egyptian gods each got a constellation to them, like Osiris is Orion. The shafts in pyramid are properly orientated towards those, mind you. The interesting point is Texts of Pyramid, that describe a way to get from one place to another... on sky on Earth....

I'm a tad skeptical, but the article cited ancient Hindu drawings of aircraft. Hell, if Da Vinci could imagine them way before his time, surely a whole culture (more willing to accept) could build them?

And I don't believe in aliens building the pyramids. We doubt the ancient civilisations too much.

DiVinci was able to imagine them but not build them. Why can't the same be true for others?

John, not neccessarily. I have said that I am not 100% certain of alien influence in Egypt. There is some speculation, based on odd bits of information here and there that gods come from the sky, that Orion is where aliens are supposed to be from, etc. That's the interesting theory, mind you, implying not only that aliens have something to do with Egyptians, but that they are actually also the Biblical God. If I wasn't lazy, I'd write up something about that, but fact is, I am .

For a really serious discussion, I can debate very strongly and for long about moden ufology, so you can challenge me on that. Or if I ever stop being too lazy to write a summary of that alien-ancient theory.... hmm!
