that guy is still going! I watched him when he was on about #6. I remember they used to not let them go past 5.

My high school chemistry teacher was on 4 times consecutively.

There was a Canadian champion who dominated the Tournament of Champions and then retired.

I believe his name was Leczek or something to that effect.

lousy Canadians. Take our money and run.

I bet Trebek cheated and helped his fellow countryman.

My archenemy from Quiz Bowl back in high school won the college championship... oh, I think it was seven years back or so.

                this guy is still going

It was reasonably close tonight. The top 2 guys (ken was one of them) had over $20,000. But Ken still won out.

I caught it maybe wednesday, just amazing how easily he defeated his opponents. This lady with 80's big hair looked and sounded bored when she could muscle in. He actually missed the final jeopardy question (q was who were Jefferson and Adams, he said Lewis and Clark) but still won handily.

Yeah asleep, I saw that episode too. He was DOMINATING the game but I have no idea how he gets laid at all.

I can't find his website either.

                      Quiz Bowl.

Now that brings back some good memories.

I remember the Quiz Bowl team I assembled was full of vagabonds, trouble-makers, and comical ruffians. I think the only question one of my team mates answered was something about Boyz II Men.

Despite this, we went up against all of the teams full of the rich, over-acheiver kids and still almost won. We made it to the finals before our streak of upsets finally came to a halt.

In the final match, we broke through and took the lead on two seperate occasions, instilling a fear in those rich, snotty kids that I believe will haunt them to their dying day.

I think they realized that it doesn't really cost them any more to have 2 five-day winners or 1 ten-day winner... and that the 10 day winner(s) will likely draw in new viewers.

Actually, they lost a court case and were required to dump the 5-time champion limit and double the monetary value of all answers, IIRC.

He got #18 today. They made him work a little; he didn't have it wrapped up going into Final.

The guy is just scary good. I don't know how they'll ever get rid of him without cheating or just putting in a new wins limit.

I like that show. It's the only game show worth watching. Too bad they don't have one here.

Eh? Never saw anything about a court case. Kinda hard to believe, and my google fu has come up empty on that.
