That's what I like about Kerry. He isn't emotional. He's calm and collected and seems the type that would think everything through before making a decision.

See that's kinda the way I felt. I sorta liked the YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHH it made him more human to me. Prone to make mistakes as we all are, human not stuffy and reading from a teleprompter but willing to show his emotions and get fired up about something. Which this day and age getting fired up about something and being pationate about it might not be such a bad thing. Instead of cold, unfeeling and teleprompter material.

I agree with MrFun; the American people would never vote a boring, loser idiot into office. They'll only vote in a loser idiot like Bush, who isn't boring at all due to the fact that there is no way of predicting what he'll propose as essential for the stability of civilization next. We're talking about a man who successfully made the middle east a more hopeless mess than it already was, which I for one did not realize was possible. The public will elect anyone, but they won't stand for boredom, it seems.

If i was sure that a given politician shared my feelings, id be ok with them being all emotional. But I dont, and all in all id rather have them be calculating.

Did we ever have a President who was more calculating than FDR?? Or one who was more tormented by inner anger (though better disguised and much more tormented than in Deans case) than Nixon??

Two people more interesting - one of whom sure beat Dean on the angry whacko list by a long shot.

He had a good shot of winning if he hammed home the point of growth rates and falling unemployment rates in his last year like his kid is doing now.

But Bush I came right after Reagan, for crying out loud. An oddly shaped pumpkin would have been "interesting" after that. I'm guessing Dukakis was even worse than Bush Sr. somehow?

Which makes it even more interesting... because Reagan was the God of charasmatic presidents, which provided a major contrast to the wooden Bush I. At least he used Reagan on the campaign trail (while Gore refused to have Clinton campaign on his behalf).
