Heard about this one. Would have loved to have seen it.
    Didn't, sadly.
Yeah well, if you're too cheap to fork out for Foxtel!

Yep. And it serves the Waratahs right if they miss out. But that, unfortunately, is always the case.

And that's still too early... time for a Star Trek episode.

          • I can claim in all truth never to have watched an episode of that sh*t.

DS9 is basically the best Trek series ever - partially because they took a lot of the themes from B5.

I'm still a little unsure about "Enterprise" as it's pretty new here - we've only seen through season 1 - Get yer act together channel 9!

                    • One of the downsides of Foxtel is that Saturday night is wall-to-wall Star Trek in its various incarnations along with its various clones on several channels!

The only mystery recently has been how the officials managed to miss the two Boks' head butts that resulted in 8 weeks suspension each. If they'd been spotted, they'd've been red cards too.
Two Bok's head butts? I missed those...were they in the same game?

"Enterprise" has arrived in France a few weeks ago only but as I don't have nor Satellite nor Cable TV I won't see them until a Trekkie around me buys it (the series are very costly in France, at least 100 € each season)... which means in one or two years.

I must admit I have a soft spot for "The New Generation" (I am currently looking at the full serie) though I have been pleasantly surprised by DS9.

On the other hand I really like the idea behind "Voyager", the "Lost in Space" and "Into the Unknown" concepts mixed together appeal to me.

I have discussed with some fans (of B5 and DS9) and it seems to be a common misconception as the first seasons would have been produced roughly at the same time. It is thus difficult to know which serie has influenced the other... probably both.

TNG just didn't really take my fancy - something to do with putting families on board something that was supposed to be a warship I think. It wasn't too bad for it's time but looking back I don't think I'd ever really want to watch it again.

Voyager wasn't too bad but it had a bit too much of that 'new planet every week' feel at the start. There've been a few too many SF series like that. Season 4 (IIRC) introducing the war between the Borg and Species 8472 changed all that though.

I think B5 first aired a season in advance of DS9 but I'm not entirely sure when they were shot. The eventual DS9 main theme - the Dominion war - is only hinted at towards the end of season 2, after B5 season 1, a little after the secondary plotline - the usurpation of power on Bajor - is coming to light - Very similar to the way B5 handled the end of their 1st season.
Both excellent series in any case.

No. It happened two weeks ago. The Stormers' Corne Krige, ex-Bok skipper, copped 8 weeks for headbutting against the Chiefs. The next day, Sharks and Bok A.J. Venter copped 8 weeks for headbutting against the Reds. And I notice that the Crusaders' #8 copped 3 weeks for headbutting last weekend.
