Palmer and Hodgson were the 'masseurs'

As for the rest...just what I need to see after a boring meeting.

Not necessarily. The Crusaders should make it regardless. The Chiefs are the only other Kiwi team who can realistically make it and they will have to beat the Stormers this weekend to have any real chance. Their last two matches are against the Bulls and the Brumbies. If they lose to Stormers and Brumbies, they're history.

I'm not so sure I'm totally against the idea of players running a franchise. Live and let live - I thought that was your attitude towards it too...?
Not at all. It's the way they choose to do things. OTOH, I think it's dangerous to have so much power residing with players. To whom are they accountable? Decision makers need to be accountable.

I've told you before! Work for yourself! I often hold meetings with myself and I can assure you they're never boring.

I definitely need to work for myself - more talking shops this morning.

Tigers have held (supposedly secret!) talks with the Welsh Fly Half Stephen Jones (with our old enemies Llanelli). Endless ammunition for Finbar there?

I took today off and planted broad beans and peas.

Well, Wales ... East Midlands ... all much of a muchness, really. Except Wales has the scenery.

I checked my English/French dictionnary before and there was nothing like realise so I guessed it was an exception to the rule.

Then your English/French dictionary is based on American spelling! Everywhere outside America, it's spelled realise!

True, but I still think the Hurricanes are in with a slim chance. They should beat the Highlanders, and if they could win against either the Crusaders or the Brumbies they might just scrape in.

Ahh...that's just wishful thinking isn't it...alright, I'm going for the Waratahs. I don't think I could bring myself to support the Brumbies anyway.

I suppose you could say they are accountable to their fans. Their success as a team has no doubt been a major factor in allowing the continuation of their "player power" arrangement.

Mrs Caligastia bought me a copy of Rugby World magazine yesterday. It's a pretty NH-oriented publication, so I was able to catch up on some of the news from that part of the world.

I didn't realise Scotland had relieved Italy of the wooden spoon in the 6 nations this year.
