Yes there are protestants who claim catholics aren't christians and sadly vice verse. Many people think like that.

There would be similar streams of opinion in Islam i.e. Sunni versus shiite and other sects like sufi.

For me, the old "I'm right and you're wrong" about God gets a bit tiresome after a while but a lot of people think like that.
