No one is persecuted on account of religion in France, but some of the girls that are forced to wear the veil because of an external pressure are.

Tamerlin, and there are people like me who long for the old days of Latin Masses. To some, having the Mass in Latin was persecution. To others, it was a direct link to the ancient church that gave one comfort.

I am sure some Muslim girls would like to be "free" to dress just like French girls.

First I donot think the muslum girls are being force to wear veil in public that the same old arguent some christian where useing way back in the middle age when trying to explain how Islam became the dormant religion in the Holy Land, North Africa, and middle east by useing the sword to forcely convert people to Islam, all educ people now know that isnot true. The holy book have than law against forceing people to convert to Islam. Than girl must be at least 13 year old and up to decide if she want to cover her face and head.

I have only said that some are...

Some are forced to wear the veil and some are forced to quit it before going at work, both behavior are condemned by the French law because you are free to chose and practice your religion and this is a constitutional right.

There is than dumbass federal law that state you cannot force state lines to have sex with any female even your own wife. Not going that far, I could tell you about those public schools - very few today, but in increasing number with time - where not wearing the veil becomes dangerous for girls. I could tell you about those very, very atheist parents having put their children to the catholic - private - school in order to avoid that their daughter had to wear the veil.
I could tell you about that - non muslim - woman met in the train 5 years ago, who, to go to her office had to walk 50 meters between the bus stop and the entrance of the building in a 'muslim' street. She always had problems with men talking, harrassing, touching her... until she decided to put a scarf. She had now permanently a scarf in her handbag that she put on for those 50m.
She did it freely, that's true, but I guarantee you it was not done with pleasure, and only to avoid harassment. And I repeat SHE WAS NOT MUSLIM AND WAS ALREADY 5 YEARS AGO !!!!!

That's indeed not in my culture. Call me defender of a 'pure' western culture if you want, but I feel a need to fight that kind of 'culture'.

The Western Media is alway fill with woman in Islam nations being stone to death for extramarriage affairs. First since the Iran Republic founding in 1977 or 1978 no woman was never stone to death or put to death for just crime. All Death sentence must be approval by than highter Islamist Appeal Court. The framous case of that young woman in Nigeria was than prime example of the Islam North getting back at the Bapest President they have by sentence this woman to be stone to death so all of these Western Government and human right groups would put pressure on the Leader of Nigeria to embrass him and his government. Islam jurst told me it would not happen as almost all Islamist legal proc where vilate like not haveing witness to the same act of extramarriage affair, not waiting 3 month after her huband divore her to see it she was pregeant with her hushand child, since that legal point wasnot carry out that baby might be her hushand child. There was no way that Islam appeal court would have approval of the death sentence and in fact they declare the charges of extrasmarriage affair invaild legality in fact her ex-hushand is now payment support payment for her and the child.

The only case in the middle east lately was than man caught by his tribe for rapeing his 6 month old female baby, there was no trial by the local Iraman and fact he trie to talk the tribal member of stoneing him to death without than trial. Since there was than TV crew who caught the man rapeing his daughter when the other tribal member lift up the tent and drag him away from his daughter. Other 300 tribal member men,women includeing his wife, and childern stone him to death. They did get in trouble with the Islamic and state courts but when saw the video tape they just warning the villager to never do it again. Both of those court would have found him gueity and put him to death for his crime.

Dallas, Cirago and other major america cities, and it invole no muslum at all but black people an other ethiic

You are actually telling us that a european woman who wish to work in an Islamist country must dress in a particular way but that the Muslim girls should have the right to wear the veil where it is currently forbidden by the law in France.

Actually, I would argue that by forbidding these symbols, you are denying rights to religious people available to the non-religious. In short, your laws already treat religious people differently. Why then should the religious people come into power in France, that they should tolerate the beliefs of the non-religious?

It seems to me that you don't mind because it isn't your beliefs that are being restricted. One of the beautiful things about religious freedom is that it protects the rights of those who choose not to believe, just as much as they do those who believe. Neither group gets favouritism.

As for the Moslems being restrictive, do you really want France to be known as the Western Saudi Arabia?

The very fact that a nation proscribes certian beliefs indicates an insecurity. A strong nation allows people to dissent, because they are not afraid of the ideas expressed by the dissenters. French people are obviously very afraid of religion.
