Take Pakistan 97% of it population is Muslum so to be PM or President you must be Muslum just simple common sense. Pakistan set aside so many seats in they legulator bodies for
Christian and other non-muslum people. America doesnot do this at all.

Even Syria? Most Muslims would not consider the sect of the current president (and his father), the Alawis (sp?) to be Muslim, although its hard to be sure since they're quite secretive...

That flies against what severel Israeli leaders have written in their memoirs. If it had not been for the constant conflict the sort of economic dislocation and expropriation perpetrated against the Palestinians for the benefit of the Jewish proletariat would have been politically impossible. Therefore the state of Israel has followed a policy of increasing provocation and escalation.

Americans largely consider Israel their baby. Like the proud parent they enthuse, support and admire it. It is absolutely incomprehensible to them that their little offspring should be capable of doing wrong. However Israel is simply a state with ambitions and policies like any other states, although they are placed in peculiar surroundings. Also Israel is one of the only allies the US has which can be called genuinely democratic, although strangely they have not adopted their constitution yet, a thing I gather Americans consider very important. Compared to other alliances the US has made in the past, it is of course very important that this one should be free from any criticism, which is why the official media in America present a frankly untrue picture of the conflict. In fact one is often disturbed by the frankness of Israelis defending their right to Greater Israel compared with the rather sentimental lies Americans often purport.

Neither has the UK. OTOH, IIRC, North Korea has a constitution. Constitutions mean diddly squat.

Except that the document making the state of Israel official specifically calls for the creation of a constitution.
