Someone already did a thread similar to this but about bands. This thread refers to individual musicians. If you're going to name a band, at least tell me which individual in that band spoils it for you.

      Overrated guitarists?

I'll join the chorus against Elvis.

I agree with slowwy on Eric Clapton. Wonderful guitarist.
Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

        Mozart

Except for his Requiem, I haven't heard anything interesting from him

Elvis sucked. I agree with Cali about page. Hendrix was God incarnate.

Also to add to my 'philestine' collection, the majority of classical music It's just so boring, overindulgent and w@nky. I remember being dragged along to classical recitals when I was at Oxford, and I must say they were good. The best evening's sleep I ever got A bit like Jack Nicholson on 'The Witches Of Eastwick' There is the odd classic, but for the most part they lack any aesthetic appeal...it is probably the most esoteric of all the musical genres...

Do singers count? Because if they do, I'd like to nominate Billie Holiday, the most depressing singer of all time. Thirty seconds of listening to Holiday can turn the happiest occasion into a rainy Sunday afternoon when you're broke and your car isn't running.

A weak voice AND one with no range AND it's nasal and whiny...what more could you want? *shudder*
