  • HERESY! Legendary musicians you believe are overrated...

As much as I like Led Zep, I don't think Jimmy Page was the greatest guitarist who ever lived. As a guitarist myself, I consider John Petrucci (Dream Theater) to be superior to Page.

Although he's written a lot of great rhythm guitar parts, half of Page's solos are pretty scratchy. They seem to go no-where and just sound uninspired. On occasion it sounds like he is struggling to play something beyond his skill level.

Overall he is a good guitarist, but not great. I give him more credit for his writing ability than his playing skills.

                It's called his style, jackass.

Not the best. That would be Clapton.

Did Elvis actually write any of the songs he sang?

Sloppy play...I think that's my style too! Now, everyone worship me because I play like Jimmy Page.

Not the best. That would be Clapton.
I'd like to see Clapton get through one of John Petrucci's solos.
