Nope. Falwell's desire to punish millions for using pot violates Jesus' teachings as well, but his desire to punish the sick for using medicinal pot "should" be outrageous enough for even most Christians to see as immoral. -

Ben -Where did I agree with Falwell wrt medicinal pot? The Bible is silent on pot, but Jesus was not silent on how we are to treat others - "do unto others..." Heck, Jesus defended an adulteress from punishment when that was a capital crime, so it's quite illogical Jesus would have advocated caging millions of people for using pot when neither he or the Bible even mentions it. The key is the Golden Rule and Falwell and millions of other "Christians" not just ignore it, but violate it...Show me where the bible says you ought to use pot, and not just for medical reasons since you would agree with Falwell that medical pot is not the way to go.
I've heard him express opposition to legalising medicinal pot, nothing subjective about it. That means sick people will be punished, nothing subjective about that either. Is pot the only type of medicine that can treat them? Your argument remains silent on this point. If there is another legal treatment for these people for their medical condition, ergo, banning pot will not result in punishing sick people.That means sick people will be punished, nothing subjective about that either.
Secondly, it is also true that even if the ban goes through, that I doubt the intent of Falwell is to deny treatment to sick people. This is why I need to see his statement so that I can assess the merits. Falwell may simply wish to prevent the abuse of medicinal marijuana to treat those who simply wish to get high.
