This must be one of Phelp's family reunions--the web page it was linked from describes it as "dancing on a *** journalist's grave".

This kind of stuff makes Jerry Fallwell a saint.

Phelps is definitely lower than Falwell, if you know something about them. Back during Bob Dole's campaign, IIRC, Falwell reached out in some Virginia conference between Falwell's group and some Christian gays. For this grave crime of talking with "the enemy," Phelps went on a rant against him about how he was betraying the gospel he claimed to serve.

Frankly, it's a shame I know this and that he makes the news. I think the best way to treat him would be to stop covering it.

And Limbaugh? He wrote a book. A regular effete intellectual compared to Phelps.

Falwell has a very extreme interpritation of the Christian faith and many of the things which Falwell says are contradicted by the bible itself. He just loves to pick those passages he likes and ignore the passages he doesn't like. That said Falwell isn't really a hypocrate because he really does live in line with the religious extremist life style and values he and his followers profess.

That's why he's slightly less repugnant then some of the other hate mongers out there.

Better to let it fester in the open than in secret. That way, people get to see this type of stuff for the nonsense it really is.

He/They call themselves Christians, so if he violates the teachings of Jesus, nay, makes a mockery of Jesus' teachings, I'd call that hypocrisy. So does he? Yup, he wants sick people punished for using medicinal pot (just 1 example). Did Jesus teach that? Nope. I see no difference between Falwell and Phelps, one wears a smile as he hurts people, the other wears anger. If anything, Phelps is more honest albeit just as much a boil on the behind of Christianity.

I look at that photo and think warmly of my good ol' issue M16A1/M203 UGL combination. One round from the M203 right in the middle - problem solved.

                        Um . . . . .

Falwell was the one that organized some of his relatives to picket Shepard's funeral.

So really, Phelps and Falwell are both rotten to the core.

Phelps was always an stupid ass. And all the other religous conseratives who basically agree with him but don't protest funerals are arguing on no basis. They all are rotten dirtbags.

I was surprised to see that some people didn't protest the conference I went to this weekend... Model For Pride... hmmm....
